here is my problem, attemting too refresh my TOC on a ps2 slimline console using swap magic version 3.6,when swap magic boots i open the fliptop lid and it says insert bigger toc disk, now when i insert an ORIGINAL ps2 game and close the lid it says not a valid ps2 game and the disk keeps spinning,i do use the magic swich tools aswell and it keeps telling me the disk isnt a ps2 game, the disk is perferct(no scratches) and all other games work so it aint the laser, anybody know what it could be or have run into this problem please let us know the solution, cheers

Hi Cheekky! from now on. i have no problem with the Swap magic even the tool or the program. ok let try my way may be it work for you
First you start booting the DVD Swap Magic in your PS2 slim, when it get into the screen that said "Load Program".you open the flip and insert your PS2 back up and Hit X to load the program and you get into the game...hope it will help.

Compatitability and wherher or not you need to
have an EXTRA BOOT before loading most newer high toc games.

You want to go with 3.3 or 3.6

That way 95% of the games will work with no fixes needed.

I have swap magic 3.3 myself.
You dont want to get Anything LOWER than that,

With the older version you have to use cd and/or dvd loader to boot some games,

http://www.swapmagicfix.com

They list all the games that need fixes to boot with
tyhe older versions of swap magic

I have a question, what about for people using swap magic w/o a fliptop cover? Is it easier or harder? Y'all go easy on me, I'm a newbie at this stuff.

depends if its a slimline pstwo or a full size one
if its the full size 1 swap magic with slide card or slide card pro is proble better on if u a noob and dono how to install the flip top.
if its a slim i recomend the flip top because it will just make ur life easyer istead of trying to install parts here and there that can easaly break

sry my spellin sux but im in a hurry to bed lol its like 1:30 :p

i started with the slide card, but after a while you get annoyed with it. epsecially when its late at night and your in a foul mood, i cant think of anything worse!

so i got a fliptop instead, much better, but can be a little tricky to install if you havent done it before

ok i REALLY REALLY need help on this one ok i bought the slim kit pro for the PS2 (slim one) ok but as im putting in the tools (A.B.C.) i have a hard time of putting tool C into place its supposed to trick your ps2 into thinking tht its still closed when u open it,but it doesnt work i had to reorder that part cuz it was screwed but still HOW do i put it in good enough so as to prevent me from haveing to old it down my new part hasnt arrived yet but the ridges on the old one are beyond screwed,so im guessin that the ridges are crucial in order for the entire kit to function and also another thing how do i use my software for it it is magic3 plus version 3.6 -any HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!_THANX!

"Swap Magic is a CD Based Modchip for the PS2 that can boot PS2 and PSX(PS1) Backups."

Here is my dilemma: I bought SM 3.6 expecting these results, but I can't figure out how to do it. I have already taken the front off, learned how to slide, etc. I have backed up something like 5 or 10 discs so far, all PS2. The problem starts when I tried to backup a PSX game. I couldn't get it to work, and I got the advice to buy a Gameshark. Now that I have bought the Gameshark, I still cannot get it to work. How can I play a PSX backup on my PS2 without buying any more equipment? I have: SM 3.6(DVD&CD), Gameshark2, Gameshark(PSX), Slide Tool. Thanks!

Yeah Id like to know how to boot PSX games as well. I have SwapMagic v3.3 and a GameShark Lite (also a Gameshark v3 and v4 but they wont help). I dont wanna have to buy a Breaker Pro either.

I also heard something about using cdloader to boot PSX backups does anyone know anything about that?

Most places won't sell Swap Magic because of one or both of these reasons: 1. A common myth, Selling Swap Magic is illegal; and 2. They beleive it will hurt they game sales, people will buy SM and copy all their games instead of buying them. If there is a place for you to buy it, it won't be a Gamestop of an EB Games, it will be a little Mom & Pop corner store.
