Yo, sneek thanks alot. I'm just now getting notification that somebody replied to my post, In 2 Months (that's crazy). But nevertheless, I thanks u very much. Now can somebody tell me or explain to me how do i make these backups for my ps2 & xbox. I've tried w/o any success. My friend has a modded PS2 & Xbox and i wanted to make backups for him. (he has kids, but he is a definite hardcore gamer) as well as me. So i need to know how to copy these games the RIGHT way, like rightaway. Can Anybody help a brotha out?!?!?

Thanks but i have tried that already, doesnt work. i think i will just have to face the fact that its not going to boot up, unless maybe the laser needs adjustment as i think it is touching the disc as it spins, but i dont know how to do this?

yes its harder to boot it may not work 100% of the time but usually works if u get the old cd loader the homebrew is called reality media player the quality is just as good as your computer and all the colours(yay canada) are fine

maybe you can help me with this. I have several ps2 backup games. They all played perfectly on my old large ps2. I have recently bought a new slimline ps2 to replace the old one. Now none of my backups work. I bought a new fliptop for the slimline and even upgraded my boot discs from ver 3.3 to ver 3.6. All I am getting is "not a valid ps2 disc" This NEVER happened with my old ps2. Is there something special you have to do with the slimlines other than swap the discs??????????

Quote: I may also add that while the PS2 is able to read DVDRW media to playback movies it will most likelly not play ANY DVDRW media to play games.
Why? Because in game mode the laser is further away from the disc and therefore has problems reading the DVDRW media. You may be able to get around that by adjusting the laser screw, if you dare to.
sorry if this sounds stupid..i probably definetely missed something...but earlier on ppl were talking about how to rotate a thingie to bring the laser closer to the cd/dvd's. so if you play around trying to adjust the screw thing...could you play ps2 dvd backups without a modchip or whatever else? or is it still a problem of the game not being seen as authentic. and if by any chance you can..then what are the risks on that? if any. anyway probably the answer to my q is no..otherwise everyone would be doing it..but still..i hope someone can explain. thank you.

Messing with the laser, what's the worst that can happen??
Total your PS2.
You still need a boot method because, as you said, it will be seen as not authentic.

jjh123, according to the information provided, you can play PS2 backups with only that kit. I would like to explain however. Breaker pro is for original PS games, as in, not PS2. You shouldn't need it for any PS2 methods, unless you plan on playing PS backups also.

As stated before, the kit should include everything needed. You only need the SM and slide card, but maybe a few extra little sensor blockers for newer versions. As for the Action Replay Max, I don't know. Best way to find out is to try.

gunner,
honestly , the only way you are going to be satisfied is if you actually get the chip. I found that the disks worked, yes, but the outcome of it will just draw you a lot of headaechs to come. For an extra $50 you can get yourself a chip that will be well worth the money. beleive me. after near ruining my ps2, i got it swapped and rigged with a two games worth of modification and no headachs. of course it was painfull to see those 150 dollars go but hey im more than happy that i got it done now. im stress free.

I am going to explain this in detail for you, and hopefully it will make sense. The whole point of Swap Magic is to allow you to play backup games, so if you backup Swap Magic, you will need to boot it with an authentic Swap Magic. Otherwise, the company would have gone belly up as soon as it released the product. Think about it.

Hello everyone. I just bought a Swap Magic (Or Slide Swap) from Pandora's Cube here in Maryland if anyone has ever heard of it. The one I bought came with what looked like they were photocopied and they weren't even the right instructions. So I'm guessing it may be bootlegged but moving on. The discs run perfectly and I just got the slide card thing down. I first had the problem of not locking the tray back in place and getting a Not a Valid PS2 Disc error. Now that I lock it back in place, it briefly goes to the memory card and disc readin screen then it goes red and says "Please reinsert a PS2 disc" or something along those lines. I'm aware that I need certain kinds of DVD's and I've ised many such as Fujifilm DVD+R, Maxell DVD-R, Phillips DVD+R, and a off brand one that I should have known was not going to work. I'm not on a fliptop PS2. I've burned the games at 1x speed using DVD Decrypter perfectly. I know the burned games run because it plays on my PS2 emulator but runs at a unplayable speed with no sound. I'm refreshing the TOC with Soul Calibur 3 which is about 4.3 in size. Can someone tell me if I'm missing anything or give any suggestions?
I've been all over the forums and I've tried every suggestion I've seen. Everyone who has had my problem has gotten past it and plays backups just fine. I wonder what keeps mine from running.
