on gbatemp a person could play the DL on wiikey just do teh 15% trick if did already, then load it up with the bricked copy of SSBB, then once you get on the menu screen, eject that disk and put in the DL disk

Do we have to use regionfrii on the iso? And if we do use region frii on the DL iso, than does that mean that we don't have to use the config disc to turn region overide on?

Im pretty sure you didnt need to turn region override on for the D5.
Just regionfrii it.
Not 100% but i think im right.

There's been numerous accounts of this working and with my own successful experience I'll try to break it down so its easy.
I have a WiiKey with 1.9g firmware and a NTSC Wii
Download the ISO (4.7gb single layered)
Make a COPY of the ISO
BrickBlock the COPY
Burn both (label on the disc which one is which)
Put in the ORIGINAL disc w/out BrickBlock
Click the Upper Left Channel (Where a game usually loads)
Update until around 15% (really just anything close or around 15% use your best judgement, less is better ofcourse)
Then RESTART the Wii
Eject the Original Game before pressing A
Then insert the Brickblocked game
Tah DAH! magic!
It should be working
I know its been posted many times in the last couple pages, but I thought this might help out for the people just starting to read
Best luck to you all
and you don't NEED TO REGIONFRII the discs, it is not neccessary, if you so choose to do so then I don't see the harm in it
*Oh yeah forgot to mention that you need to turn Region Override On with the GCOS 1.3 disc on the WiiKey and use a good quality DVD-R Single Layer!*

Just curious, I've found the full game online. Some people are saying that the file is corrupt. From what I understand a few of you here have mentioned some corruption.

For those how have been doing their homework on this, the main question is one about compatibility of the DL versus the single layer. What I mean is, do people still need to worry about doing the 15% method or getting dual channels, and specifically, if they already did the 15% method do they just need to BrickBlock the new DL and then they will be fine completely?
I know allot of people are all for posting things that were already answered or are out in the open in other threads, but this is a new issue of concern that I think is relevant for everyone in this forum.

Ok all went well.
I put the Dual layer disc in and it immediatly went for update.
I ejected.
Put the d5 brickblocked in and proceeded to the menu where it asks to press any button.
Eject the d5 disc and inserted dual layer and bingo.
It works on wiikey. Just need brickblocker to update app to dual layer and all is okidoki.
That was fun Goodnite folks.

Tsk tsk - let's not ask members to do that - numerous warnings yet still people insistent on posting that in a public forum.

Good tutorial, but is this with the DL iso, or just the 4.7g one that can't play cutscenes?

im burning the DL version right now, should be done soon...but i've already went ahead and updated it using Single Layer version. Do I still need to use the 15% update /brickblocker again?

So has anyone had success in getting the DL version working with a D2C Key? This thread has a bunch of info on the Wiikey but I'm not seeing much on D2C; that's either a really good thing or a really bad thing.

Yeah, I did the full update, got the dual channels, and I can still go into the wii config just fine with my wiikey 1.9g update.
