Hi all,
I have ordered a Kryptview and have been informed that it will arrive this Thursday. I have had a Eurovox for the last 18 months. The installation for the Eurovox was very simple - just a matter of hooking the box up and doing a scan if I remember correctly. I didn't require the null modem cable until I updated the firmware. I was wondering is it much the same procedure with the Kryptview? When I look at FergusB's directions at the start of the thread I wondered is it necessary to use the null modem cable in the setup of the Kryptview? Sorry to sound naive but any help would be much appreciated.

firmware has been fixed to work on N2, but N3 will be the challange, and the Kryptview team were first and foremost with their updates and support last time, as if any box will work with N3, anyones guess at this stage, but enjoy your box while its working and worry about n3 when it happens

Hello Guys!
Have gone through many threads in this forum, trying to get kryptview A750 up and unning. Have been able to upload new firmware on the box(Got the success message), Looks like flashing did happen and Box re-boot itself. However, currently the box is showing 0000 on the console. Its connected via scart cable to TV, and there is no signal either.
Its connected to Virgin Cable into RF in port. The virgin box works just fine.

Any suggestions what next i could try!

Much Appreciated.

Thanks Karl. Is the flash procedure for the Kryptview the same as it is for the Eurovox as per Eamo's library? I haven't been able to find a copy of Kryptview flashing procedure. Apologies for being a pain but my Kryptview arrived this morning and I am hoping to have it up and running before nightfall.

Cheers Mick.

Hi,

Havin trouble scanning channels with the krytview. Flashed with latest firmware, restored factory settings but every scan fails and brings me back to the easy installation page.

Am i doing anything wrong or is there another thing i'm missing out on. I had the box and knew how to re-scan, but not really familiar with the kryptview. thanks for any assistance.
When on auto scan, only put your provider in and the box under that should have network, then press the green button on remote, after this you will get to choose an area, you choose legacy channels, and press ok thats it sorted after that

Thanks for the reply. Been away for a few days and decided to give it another go.

This is what i'm doing...

Easy Installation
Automatic Searck - ok
network .nthell ok
channel search type - network-ok

You say that after this I will get to choose an area, and to choose legacy channels. It's not giving me the option. What happens next is ...

New Screen- Network scan
add tp list - they all say already exists
Searched 7/7 and tells me its complete so i exit and it takes me straight back to the eeasy installation screen!

What am I doing wrong. Going round in circles here! Cheers.

By the way, Im in Dublin 6 area

Cheers Karl. Downloaded firmware successfully or at least that's what it said on the screen. I am now trying to scan but getting a lot of grief. I have followed FergusB's sequence for scanning but each time I click on yellow button to accept scan on different frequency I get the response 'FAILED'. Would you (or anyone) be able to enlighten me on this as I have spent over an hour now and I'm no furtehr ahead. Cheers Mick.

The results you describe can be caused by no signal being connected.

Always connect the cable directly to the KV with NO splitters etc.

There are 7 TPs in the KV by default and if there is no cable connected the KV cannot read the required TPs for your service provider and then go on to store and scan those TPs.

It will count through the default 7 and report them "already exist"
These default TPs refer to frequencies outside the range used here and when scanned will find no channels.

I have also had a KV which had a faulty tuner and showed the same symptoms. I used to live in D6.

Hi all
Got my KV 750 today and have been trying to flash. Got as valid null mode cable and tested with my Euro Max V2008 and Ok.

When I run the loader and select download and open the correct BIN file Kryptview_19032009.bin then clicked on Start. After 5 seconds it comes back with a dialogue box titled STB Editor and message "The downloading is not requested". The Download box shows "Read REQ fail"

Dub South, NTHell, have done factory reset, power off/on/standby and all othe rcombinations. When I do a scan it does find the stations but all stay coded - formware showing December 2008.

Please help

Hi Karl - I did the factory default, new screen came up, went to bottom and selected autoscan, and pressed the green button. What came up was 'Add TP list'. Then added 6 TP's, went straight to Automatic Search and took about 20 seconds to scan thru Radio and TV channels before message 'COMPLETE (EXIT)' showed on screen. There was no mention of Legacy Channels. I feel that this is where my problem lies. Any help from anybody would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers Mick.

should be 12 TP's,..it's a long shot but try the steps below,..it sounds very like the box is not clearing TP's & channels correctly after you do a factory default,..the original KV had this issue also,...try this..
(1)..remove N*L cable from the box. (2)..do a factory default. (3).. turn off the box & remove the the power & scart cables & leave it like this over night then try a new installation from scratch.
