Problem is that the divot deleted ALL the files from it so that he could add new folders with music onto it. Now we cant get any music files onto it.
Any chance that one of you kind people could get in touch regarding either sending them to me, or telling me whereI can download them.
Or even tell me how to do a Firmware Upgrade.
Existing details are ...

Thanks for your help animalz,
Just checked that site, but it says ...
"sadly the tools for extracting firmware do not work on 9.0.48 or 9.0.50 firmware"
So, my point of attack now is, can I redo the original firmware (?)
Cheers,
Divot Heid

Well it seems that I got a similar problem!
I'm searching for a program that will help me extract the firmware of my 4GB Mp4 player which came to be just 1GB after hardware checkup! I just read that if you do not format your player to it's real size, it'll sooner or later become a problem. In fact, i'd like to see the actual remaining size when i drag files on it. Here's my firmware:
ACT2097_S72_1
2006/04/25
9.0.50
2006/10/30
So when one of you guys have an answer, please share with us! :)

I am not savvy in tech stuff at all, but I know my way around a comp just fine. When I try to play mp4s (all other formats work) in either Quick Time or ITunes, I get a picture but no sound at all. The sound for any other program and/or audio/video format is great, just no sound for mp4s. As far as I know, I have any required codex.
Probably a simple problem located in a setting, but I'm lost. Can someone point me in the right direstion? Thank you. :)

first for some reason MP4's dont work on an MP4 player!
So you download any format of video (mpg is what i usally get)
Then with the cd you got with the MP4 player it's probably called boot cd or somehting. There should be a converter on it install it on to your computer and convert your video's on them. The just copy and paste the finished amv or mtv file to your MP4.
If by any chance you have lost the cd or need more help on converting them so it comes out in the best uality as possible here is a website you can download it from and they tell you how to use it so your amv's or mtv's come out the best quality as possible.
http://www.mympxplayer.com/
scroll to the bottom and pick any of the AMV converter tools or the mtv converter tool . (I use amv converter tool 3.68 the most stable and best one)then when you click on iy read the description and then click on the instructions link if you want to get your video's to the best uality as possible.
Finally the difference between amv and mtv files is they are different formats usally they dont both work on an MP4 player. amv is better because the file size comes out smaller and better quality. Test out which one works on your MP4 player.

I had the same problem but finaly figured it out. You need to use AMV converter 4.0 and put the settings at 160x120 ,this will automatically flip it the way you need. You can get 4.0 converter here: http://www.hk-star.com/amv.htm Hope this helps... -gary

It'll start off playing and then stop.. any idea why its doing that?.. I tried to change the size of the video and that didnt work either. Is there anything else I could possibly do?.. oh yea, how do I put phone number on there?.. yea I have lots of questions lol.. Its my first time having one of these.. maybe I should of just spent the extra money on an iPOD and none of these issues would have to be in my mind.
