I rarely have any trouble backing up any movie...but I cannot get Blade of Chthon to work using any dvd and shrink or using ripit4me. Any help would be greatly appreciated

just got the new beta release of dvdfab and it's not working with blade house of chthon. it is the only thing that could see the main movie play time of 1:28:40. in full disk mode it gets to 1.13% and then no disc or hd activity but my cpu is heating up. in main movie mode, progress doen't start to show ever but again, cpu is heating up with no cd or hd activity. any thoughts?

just tried anydvd 6.1.7.4 and it ripped only the extra junk and not the movie, it doesn't even see the main movie vob's on the disk. it only see's the 1 hour title, the making of video. this one has me stumped.

each of the 3 same name files all play in wmp with anydvd running. they all start at the same point, the previews. tried just drag and drop file in explorer to the desktop 1 at a time and it tries to overwrite it self 3 times do to file of the same name even though i only grabbed 1, like it's tricking windows to think you tried to copy all 3. something new

i get the same info
i got a little closer with the latest vob blanker, it see's the correct files after some errors in loading that state the same info. only got it to see the files if started anydvd after vob blanker was open, but then it wouldn't process it because of anydvd, even if i tried closing it before hitting process.
i have tried all combos of...
dvd decryptor
dvdshrink
clond dvd
dvdfab, several versions
anydvd
and vob blanker
anybody making any progress?

i'd advise looking in that Loco kindly posted, in there is the original cdfreaks forum link re the latest DVDFab Beta version, drop one of the DVDFab's authors (fengtao) a reply. Or, if you haven't got an account at cdfreaks i could do it for you. Though fengtao will probably need the IFO files off the dvd, they are easily copied off the dvd, and would need emailing to fengtao. I'll check this thread at work tomorrow and maybe i'll PM on of you to ask you to email fengtao the relevant files so he can check if DVDFab needs tweaking (or not)

whats up guys, i just figured it out. Download Magic DVD Ripper, covert the dvd to AVI format to whatever location you choose. Download ConvertXDVD or any other AVI to DVD software and there you go. There are other formats you can use Magic DVD Ripper to covert the DVD to but AVI was the one it had selected when i started the coversion and it worked.

I was able to rip all main movie files (2-1 thru 2-5) with SmartRipper 2.41.
After that I was unable to use dvd shrink or nero to reauthor or remake/recode to making a dvd.
The ripped files are valid VOB so I decided to use "Sothink Movie DVD Maker" which is also freeware and is available at www.brothersoft.com under dvd tools.
The copy I made using that worked, but only on my Philips dvp-642 dvd/divx player.
The audio was so low that I had to turn the volume all the way up to hear it really good.
It seems that 2-1 thru 2-4 are being treated as one part and 2-5 as a separate part but joined together. The video was not compressed at all since dvd shrink wouldnt handle it and Nero rejected it saying it would take a dvd-9 disc to fit it on. Aparently nero wont compress.
Hopefully this will help anybody that is really savvy.
