Glad to see you got the solution. Most of the time when a new protection comes along, it's just a matter of waiting to see who gets the update done 1st for the decryption software. DVDFab has been beating Slysoft lately. The copy protection isn't really anything new, just a variation of what we've seen before, noncompliant file structure. The structure was tampered with to prevent the backup software from processing the files. Just browsing the folder I saw some bup files out of spec and there were 3 VOB files with the same name. Pressing the discs allow such errors, but when it comes to software reading and burning, the files have to be compliant.

I'm starting to wonder if Slysoft is going to do an update to cover Blade: House of Chthon. Has anyone heard of a beta or anything from the Slysoft camp?

Thanks. Looks like Fengtao is polishing up the HD Decrypter at DVDIdle. I've not updated to the latest beta version because I've not been encountering any problems. I'm guilty of that sometimes. I'll wait for the regular release. House of Chthon is old news now, but only DVDFab HD Decrypter does the full dvd, that I'm aware of. As I asked before, any news from Slysoft?

Thanks for the info. At least Slysoft is trying to solve the problem now. From the sounds of all the bugs in that version, 3.1.7.5 Beta, I'll wait for another beta or the regular update. I guess the warnings were right for a reason. This version was never meant for public use.

There's only one place to get DVDFab HD Decrypter and the other DVDIdle programs, http://www.DVDIdle.com/ . I've never picked up a virus there. I suspect that's why others haven't complained either. It's a legit business that could only lose by downloading viruses to customer systems. Get a good Internet Security program like Kaspersky 7 and you'll stop getting viruses from wherever.

I didn't take offense. I can't vouch for CD Freaks and others downloads, but personally I've never gotten a virus from visiting CD Freaks. What software were you downloading that caused the problem and where did you get it? I don't mind checking it out. I just checked DVDIdle and no bells went off from a visit there. I'm just saying your experience seems to be somewhat unique. I have no idea what AV ware you're using, but it isn't doing the job if you're getting viruses. Mine checks downloads, archived files and all. I got a flag on a couple of backup programs with KIS 6, but that was after installation and due to the way the programs operate. Kaspersky Internet Security 7 doesn't give the false positives.
Edit:
I was wrong about RI4M and KIS 7. It still calls RI4M an Invader and RI4M has to be put on a trusted list to operate. I forgot about carrying over settings during update.
