Hey look on the bright side they will always be around as a game developer much like atari and sega ,but we may be playing mario on sony and ms consoles some day ;(

Yeah, that would be rank. Sonic has lost his signifigance by floating around on other consoles you know? He's no longer the figure head or selling point of a console like the Megadrive etc, but rather just another platformer title :( Sonic is one of the best characters I've ever seen in a VG in my opinion!

I doubt nintendo will come out of the console bizz and even if they do you wont be getting nintendo characters on other consoles. Why? on word Hand-helds (is that on word or two? f*** it). They would rather have all dev of nintendo bands shiffed to the market that they are acctually leading in. So sorry i know we'll never see big N going the way of atari or even sega.

why does everyone in this thread for the most part doubt nintendo? I know this keeps being said, but seriously, they did have best of show for E3, doesn't that mean anything? The wii will not fail, maybe it won't beat out sony or ms, or whoever is leading, but it will be far from a failure, its different, new, and exciting. I just built a new bad ass pc that will play anything that I can get on 360 right now (that was ported for it from PC), but it will never play a wii game cuz its totally different.
And to go back to the original topic, you bet your ass there will be Ps3 demand out the wazzoo and i'm betting cash on it by buying 2 with the intention of selling one for a steep profit on ebay!

well they announced bluray for next week, no delay after all.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

Doubtful. The difference would be smaller on a standard definition or EDTV, but I'm pretty sure the Wii isn't going to be near the benchmarks the ps3 and 360 will be hitting. The difference will get larger on HDTV's as well.

pressed : Knowbody is doubting the wii. What some don't seem to realize is that me and timmy1970 have talked about the wii on several occasions on different threads we have made no secret that we both want a wii too.I hope that nintendo does well but it isn't wrong to speculate.
xyqo; I know what you mean nintendo basically dominates the handheld market,but they once dominated the console market too.With sony's handheld selling well(and at a higher price too)and rumors of microsoft releasing a handheld by 2008 the handheld market share get's less and less every day for nintendo.
As long as they make consoles and handhelds you won't see mario on other consoles.But bet your bottom dollar if they can't make consoles or handhelds someday THEY WILL MAKE GAMES FOR OTHER CONSOLES.

tycobb thats right but I was trying to make the difference between nintendo, sega and atari clear. All the companies once had majority share of the market at some point in their history. They all have released hand helds. Only one has ever dominated both the console and handheld market at the same time and that nintendo. People have been saying that they're going out for a long time now but they're still hanging in and profitable.

just too add about the demand aspect sony wont make enuff consoles for demand as it will boost there sales later in the year.
also the christmas be4 last wen san andreas came out, over here in the uk you cudnt get a ps2 anywere they were sold out everywere, now considerin the console had been out for years u wudnt think there wud be that much demand but sony are clever an thus boostin there sales even more, there was ppl havin to pay over the odd's for a ps2 just to keep there kids happy at christmas., so if they can do that with a ps2 which was years old then i think a lot of ppl will be havin to wait a few month's be4 they get there hands on the ps3, unless they pay over the odd's on ebay. i myself will prob wait a year or two till the price drop's.

i dont think im going to wait, it would be retarded. i've spent a great part of my time on these forums since fall of last year, and im not gunna have everything i've talked about, learned, and wasted my time with be for nothing.

I think thats safe to say. Just look at the 360, ppl were spendong a $1000 for it, sometimes more. Take into conseideraion the ps3's higher price, and it will be real interesting to see how much ppl will pay.

yea, i know the ps3 is gonna be really big on launch, cuz its the new thing and its soooooo hyped up.
For ppl in the US, where have you been reserving and how much of a downpayment did you have to make? Try to post big chain stores as I may not have the same place you do in your area.
