What do you mean by "don't have a Device Manager?"
Are you trying to get to Device Manager to update the driver for your memory stick?
You just right click on your "My Computer" icon on your desktop.Then click "Properties".

If by "software" you mean :
* USBView
* Action Replay Software
* The Exploit Gamesaves (SC, 007, Mech)
and the original CD with the game, then I think you do.

Honestly, I don't know which version does not work(I know nothing about XBOX gaming, I bought an old one and modded it just for XBMC and video playback). The version that works for sure(like I said, don't know if is the only one), is "Stealth Action Redefined". I got mine for $3 on ebay, they did not have it at any of the nearby stores.

Well, I see there are a few Splinter Cell games:
Pandora Tomorrow
Chaos Theory
Double Agent
Stealth Action Redefined-->This is the one you need! The CD cover looks exactly like the picture I posted above, with the dude in black standing and holding his gun.

That's not actually the title of the game, it's jusrt "Splinter Cell", Stealth Action Redefined is more or less a comment about the game.

Hello,
I am using a Sandisk cruzer mini 256MB, so I know that this tutorial should work. But when I do everything that I need to I always get snagged at the point where I need to update my driver with the MaxDrive. It simply is not on the list. What should I do?

I got one of those cables and it did not work. The part that is suppose to plug into the XBOX does not match.
Instead, I bought an USB extension($5 and some change) and attached it to the XBOX controller. I did not completely cut the controller's cable, just stripped it. Then, I attached the USB cable. So, if you're worried about destroying a controller, you don't have to. You make a 2 in 1 "thinggie", so you can use both at the same time, the USB port and the XBOX controller.

say, i'm having a usb-xbox adapter shipped over and what i'd like to know is this;
can my xbox recognise usb drives via such adapters????
btw im softmoded, 500gb hdd, xbmc dash, tons off apps, games, etc..

i do everything right until the update driver thing. When i click on udate driver then go threw the steps until ur supposed to choose maxdrive xbox.. IT DOESNT SHOW UP1 please help. 1st person to tell me will get $5 through paypal. Email all answers at playhockey162@yahoo.com

A game controller to USB adapter will work. I picked up one for 10.00 at Wal Mart. Radio Shack has them too. The adapter is for converting PS2, Xbox and Wii controllers to PC. (all three controllers in one adapter) it comes with a small disc that installs the drivers on your PC. Then you will need the HACKED AR program and a USB memory card.
Then you plug the Xbox controller into PC with an Xbox MEM card in the slot, open HACKED AR and it will see the Xbox mem Card.
The adapter Model number is FT8D91.
Good luck
BTW, AR comes with 2 disks, one is Media Player. AR MAX has only 1 DISK.

i finally downloaded a the may 28th edition of xbmc yet it still won'y recognise any fatx formatted drive i connected through a usb to xbox adapter.
what's going on here??? All it says is, "Unable to Mount Storage Unit"....so it recognises something is being connected but fails to read it/
Help??

AR Prog crashes for me when flash drive is connected...? tried different ones. XP SP3
Edit: also tried Vista, XP SP2. Sandisk micro cruser 2gb, psp 32MB, psp 1GB, sony 512MB Micro Vault, 1GB Micro Vault, 2GB Micro Vault. All freeze AR...so what am i doing wrong?
I installed AR with update. connect usb to xbox it formats. on computer i unplug all mass storage devices, and got the vid/pid and changed the first line of xbreader file inside the driver folder. Unplug flash drive open AR. AR seems to work plug in usb drive... freeze. Drive still in computer start AR freeze.
Alright im going crazy over this thing. Maybe its my flash drives, maybe not. Maybe im just doing something stupid. Maybe ill just give up for now.
Edit: ive uninstalled everything, all drives n stuff, and reinstalled it, it now doesn't crash. 2GB SanDisk Micro Cruser formats, but AR doesnt dectect it. 2GB Sony Micro Vault, xbox seems to not see the files put by AR. Also AR doesnt seem to see the files put on by the Xbox.
Edit: After tring almost everything I had n couldnt get it to work, i tried mp3 player, that also fails. But the micro SD reader that came with M3 Real worked perfectly with Kingston 1GB JP. You have to format the memory card on AR before putting files on it though.
By the way i did this mod to load/swap save files, not to use for softmodding. Although the files does copy 2 the xbox n it should work.
