i have a few questions.
1.how safe is the winstaller for 3.03 oe-c?
2. since 3.03 oe-c has the cold boot/recovery mode is it possible to undo bricks this way?
3. is there any special precautions i need to do before upgrading/downgrading as in should i use wallpaper or theme and should i delete all my pics,music,etc. before doing this and would it help to restore my psp back to default settings before doing this?

U dont have to do any of that, although it is recommended to format after it is flashed to the psp. There is always a chance of bricking when messing with flash. Concerning recovery yes u can recover partial bricks.

one more question. im going to downgrade to 1.5 soon using the GTA exploit and in the readme it says "copy the contents of the folder MS_ROOT from the 3.03 downgrader ZIP to
the memory stick"
does it want me to copy the folder itself or just whats inside the folder?

Just open the folder and copy the psp folder. Simple as that.

i found the winstaller the easiest, all you need to do is let the winstaller put all the files on your psp, and then run the program from psp, simple as that..
psp history--1.50>2.0>3.03>1.5>3.03 OE-C>3.40 OE

thnx maddoggnz i was having trouble untill i got the 1.5 update file now i have officially downgraDED FROM 3.03 my first downgrade is succesfull thnx dark_alex i am proud owner of a version 1.50 psp now:)

Thank you very much so i just update with this version and if i want it back to 1.50 then jus do the recovery it will take me back? just double checking.
One more question will this also play the UMD?

Im new in hear so guys help me out.
I put the MS-ROOT in the file that contains (etc.PHOTO MUSIC)
In the MS_ROOT is psp in the psp there is game in the game is nicknames and there is a UPDATE file in the update file there is 5 files including EBOOT.PBP I renamed that file into UPDATE.PBP I copied it in GAME (where there is PHOTOS VIDEOS)UPDATE file so it have 6 files then i went to UPDATE VER. X.YZ Then it says game cannot be started
Please help me what i did wrong I have 3.03 HEN

Just put the game UMD it the PSP and if you see an option for update to version 2.0 you have the right disc, simple as that. There are other ways to tell by various codes on the back of the discs but these vary by region and given where you are located, I have no idea what codes would be stamped on those in your area. I'm pretty certain the presence of the update 2.0 on the UMD always is a good indicator.

you need to get the 1.50 UPDATE.PBP file before it will work

you need to put that file into games folder after you rename it from EBOOT.PBP to UPDATE.PBP it works after that i downgraded mine doing it do not unplug it at all or you will brick your psp

if you have the right umd it will have the 2.00 update on it when you put it in
