Hi,i'd like to downgrade my psp but since i don't have lcs,i need to buy it first then. but all site's say you need an unpatched version of it.
So if i go buy lcs in my local video game store will it be the right version?

If you can bring your PSP to the shop and load the UMD, then you can see if it has update 2.0 showing in the game list. If you see this then the disc is the right one.
If you can not load the disc or examine the backside of the UMD and read the small printed codes, then you only have the packaging contents to make your decision. From all I have read on this, there is no certainty to determine an unpatched disc. My own opinion is if you can guarantee the game is factory sealed and never opened and never resealed or repackaged, then I think the outside markings can determine if it is unpatched or not. I think much of the confusion on this is because a shop may mix and match the box and the discs then put them on the shelf. They may even reseal the box, giving the appearance of a new disc, but in fact the UMD may be patched while the box label may indicate an unpacthed version.
The best way is to find a shop that rents the disc. That way you can examine the disc beforehand and make sure it is the correct one. Also, the rental discs are more likely to be the older, unpatched version since they were purchased and put into service when the game was first introduced.
edit - you can also go look on eBay and see many sellers of the unpatched version. You would of course need to satisfy yourself the seller is trustworthy and in fact has the correct version you seek.

ok guys, i have 2 working 3.03 CF but upon trying to downgrade the 3.03 regular one we have i've hit a snag. i've got to the 3.03 HEN, but when i run xyz, it says it cannot find the update.pbp... now i've checked and rechecked where it is/where it's supposed to go, and what i renamed it as UPDATE.PBP, AND i've tried downloading the 1.5 update several times. i'm at a loss here. SO close, and depressingly so far. any help would be HUGELY appreciated.

I had to Google Parramatta to figure out where that might be. If you are in AU, then I haven't a clue where to rent PSP games. Here in the US, you can go to Blockbuster and several online game centers.
Just get one of eBay, do the downgrade, then turn around and sell it. If you do it right, probably won't cost you anything.

hey i just down graded my psp and am planing to upgrade it agin bakc up to 3.03 oe-e using te win installer but i am having a problem withmy 1.50 when i try to load any emu's any thing orany thing off the memory card it gives me the 8001002 error, i was hopping i could get that fixed befor i upgrade. Any segestions ?

Sup guys, I just downgraded my PSP too. I found a site that has great video tutorials for ongoing PSP hacks and downgrades so it's easy and minimizes the risk as far as bricking your PSP. Check out the site. They are constantly updating and keeping up with the PSP world. It is possible to downgrade up to 3.03 right now, but they will be coming out with a downgrade for 3.1 and 3.2 soon.

hey, can anyone help me? i am trying to downgrade from FW 3.03 to 1.5, but when i load GTA it says corrupted data and asks me to press "x" and when i do it justs continues to load the game, and doesn't start the eloader. I have tried a couple of different downgraders without success. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide

Hello, I am new to these boards, Im tryiing to upgrade my 2.82 psp to version 3.03 so I can downgrade it. I am having trouble finding the 3.03 download. I go to dl.qj.net and find the download page for that firmware but there is errors on the page and there is no way to download the file. Anybody able to just email me the update? It would be greatly appreciated.
