Hi there,
I am currently on 5.00 M33-4, I am able to play CSO or ISO games by place them in ISO Folder even without changing the UMD Mode in the Recovery menu (By prees R when Power On).
But I am having problem to play Video.ISO file. I had try to put them in the following folder of the MS:
1) Root (ms0:\)
2) ms0:\Video
3) ms0:\ISO
4) ms0:\ISO\Video
I had try to change the UMD Mode under configuration in the recovery menu but still unable to watch the Video. Where did I go wrong?
just one more info, If I enable VshMenu in the recovery menu, My PSP will hang in the XMB. Please help as I had try for a few week and still no luck. Thanks

@skycrafts
As far as I know video needs to be in mp4 format. I'm not sure if a video.iso file would be recognized by the psp.
You can put the video in this folder - MP_ROOT>100MNV01.

A) You mean to put the videofile.ISO in MP_ROOT>100MNV01, right? or the extract out the folder and put them in MP_ROOT>100MNV01. (The videofile.iso I am referring to are rip of UMD Video show). do I need to change the UMD mode in Recovery menu? Where to view after that in XMB.
B) For mp4 video:
1) What type of version support?
2) Can divx version work on PSP?
3) Where (which Folder) to put the mp4 video in the MS?
4) How to view it in XMB?
C) For the video folder in th MS (There are 2, 1 in ISO folder & 1 in Root (ms0:), what is their purposes? anyone know?
Binkie7, Sorry for more questions but it is getting very confusing for me after so many try... thanks

Yes - I would try that.
Quote: do I need to change the UMD mode in Recovery menu? Where to view after that in XMB.
I wouldn't think so to play the movie. The movie should show up under video>memory stick in the xmb.

Same folder (mp_root)& way to view (see above) though with higher firmwares (3.90 +) the video folder at the root should also work.
No divx support and the .mp4 needs to have the correct specs to play (I don't know exactly what they are). I use Nero Recode to convert and transfer directly to the psp.
Here's a guide that has another app that will work to:
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/588634
There are more programs that also offer psp support like DVDFAb - not free though.

The video should work placing an mp4 there with a higher firmware (see above). The video folder in the iso folder that one I am not sure about.

Is it set to the Nony np9660 no umd mode?
Look through the other troubleshooting parts at the end of the 1st post too.
Sonic 2 shouldn't take a higher firmware but I'd still update it - link.
Also once your cfw is 3.80 or higher you can now use the network update to update the custom firmware.

Not a problem AliJaan30
I don't have that game but since it's a newer game (Oct 08) I would think you need the higher firmware - latest would be best.

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum please forgive me if I repeated any questions asked before.
I have a PSP2006 with a v3.73 firmware. Currently I have download some .ISO game but I can't play in my console. I have tried FASTLOADER V0.7 but I still cannot run the game. Anyone can tell me what software I can use to run the game?
Cheers

Welcome jason5413
Word of advise though - read the thread before posting - your answer is in the first post. You need custom firmware - a link to a guide is there too.

Hi Binkie7,
I had another problem after upgrading from 4.01-M33 to 5.01 M33, Can you help?
Symptoms:
1) I had noticed a problem in text entry mode, it keep switching between the simple keyboard mode & the full keyboard mode non-stop. I cannot enter Text. The 'Select' button is OK.
2) When playing Game, you can normally press 'Home' button and will prompt:
'Do you want to quit the game? Yes & No'. This page appearred but all the buttons are dead, cannot shift or select. I had to press home to go back to game and use power which to off & on again tp exit.
3) If I enable the VshMenu under configuration in the Recovery Menu, the PSP will hang up when exit to XMB. It this a bad update done by me? (I Know in XMB mode if you press select, VSH meus should appear? right.)
It all seem to be related to the 'select' buttom but I had take it out from the PSP front cover & put it back, the button is OK - working fine. it seem to be a software problem.
Question:
I DID NOT do a Nand-dump initially, but can I try to do a restore Nand in the service mode (using Pandora Battery + MMS) using others Nand-dump. What will be the risk?
Sorry for the long message, If you don't had the answer, can you try to help by directing me to someone/somewhere whom/which might be able to help

Sorry skycrafts - this one is above me.
I can tell you that using another nand's is not advised. There was a tutorial somewhere on what to do if that was your only option but I'd be hard pressed to find it again.
Your best would be to start a new thread in mod & firmware forum - there are some more knowledgeable members here that can hopefully help.

Okay - it's this part from the guide:
Quote: 2.)you can only play backed up psp games if you have custom firmware if you do not have custom firmware go here: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/708959 to get started and come back when you have 3.71m33 or higher yes previous firmwares work but you will be the one asking why stuff doesn't work.
