what binkie is saying is that you need a custom firmware like 4.01 M33 firmware. To get that custom firmware, you need this guide

Follow this guide to get cfw - very easy and gives a step by step. Once you have that you should be good to go playing iso's & cso's.

You don't just copy the firmware over and try to run it. You need pandora's battery and the guide shows you have to create the magic memory stick.
Follow the guide in mrgooey's post.

ok I don't want to sound rude or anything but you've been writing me the same thing for like 4 times...I did follow the instructions but still it won't run from my psp....I did that pandora thing(when it runs in dos or something like that and I get a bunch of new folders on my psp root folder or however you call that...I get that part) and I even tried fastloared and nothing works...When I run the pandora,a bunch of add ons show on my psp but none of them works. It just says they cannot be played. :/ T_T

Well the reason I keep repeating it is because of what you say you are doing like 'copied that firmware on my psp but when I try to run the update is different from creating a magic memory stick.
So re do it - recreate the magic memory by using the guide step by step - also look through that thread for others that have had the same problem.
For pandora's battery you either have to buy a Datel tool battery or hard mod your battery to turn it into a pandora's battery.
From your posts I can't tell if you have both - a magic memory stick and a pandora's battery.
Also to create a magic memory stick use a pc that has XP - 32 bit nit XP 64 bit or Vista.
Your memory stick should be a Sony or Sandisk and between 256 mb to 2 gig.

@occupier
Is it an eboot.pbp? In the game folder on the psp create a new folder - name it the game - then put the eboot.psp there.

Hey guys. i was wondering if you could answer a few questions from me. i have cfw 4.0 m33-2 installed and an 8 gig memory stick. i know how to put csos on my psp but everytime i try to play any of them they are laggy and glitchy...it makes it no fun at all to play. i know the csos are good because they came directly dumped from the umd. is there something wrong with the psp, the memory stick, or the firmware?
any help would be greatly appreciated as i would love to enjoy the full capability of my psp! thanks in advance everyone!

Ok so I followed the guide at the beginning for nethostfs EXACTLY, and it allows me to connect to nethostfs on my computer via wifi, but then when I choose to open a .iso or .cso from my computer, my psp just freezes and shuts down. Any ideas?

Try 3.71 M33 firmware. Cause I know that nethostfs plugin is outdated... so it needs a lower firmware.

I tried it again several times with 3.71m33-2, and at first it would give me different options to start the game, and after trying all three, they would just restart my psp and then nothing, so i kept trying and it started just freezing then shutting down my psp. I tried it with usbhostfs and get the same results.
