I'm a little late to this thread, and haven't even read it, but backed up Leatherheads with Anydvd 6.4.7.0 and Clonedvd2 2.9.1.9, movie only, and it turned out great. I normally rip with VobBlanker, but gave up, due to it taking too long, and then burn with Recode, but it wasn't to be.
Sex and the City was ripped with VobBlanker, and burned with Recode, successfully.

Zo, yeah I really do not know about how these players support it or not, but I'll explain the best I can, I do have 4 players in the house, 3 are about 2 years old and one is under a year thats the one in the living area which we use mostly.
I tried it on that one first no go, than tried it on the other 3 no go also, and of course it won't load up on my pc also, remember clone did say burned successfully, it's also not blank cause if it was my newer player would say say, just says it can not play it which the others one's say the same so it did burn something just not compatable for some reason.
I tried it on my other 2 computers same thing, I still haven't givin up I will try again with your suggestion with 4x and movie only without all the extra's and see whay happins, I will let you know.

Ive burned DL discs (VERBATIM) at 2-4x faster than rated speed. Though my drive/firmware supported it. Worked flawlessly. However,
I havnt used clone in quite a while. Nero burning rom and Dvd Decrypters burning engine are the only ones I ever use. I would imagine though, that most burning engines work. ASSUMING THEY'RE set up correctly.

Dvd Decrypter's burning engine needed to be updated. That's why LUK created ImgBurn.

sytyguy, yeah I hear you, weird how sometimes it will work and than not.
I still can't get 70, I'm sure anydvd will come out with it soon, I trust slysoft more than just about any software product out there, but I'm sure they are still working on possible little bugs with 70 other wise I know they would have released it by now.
I always am leary of beta's pretty much for that reason alone even though I did download thier beta when one of the saw movies were causing havoc and did'nt run into any problems and the reason I did it took almost forever to realease the non beta version.
Like I said before I'll wait a little longer and if not I will go with the beta and only cause it's slysoft, if it was any other product I never download any thing beta and don't forget it's just my preference.
Slysoft has never let me down even if I do have to wait a little, I wish all other companies out there would follow slysoft's example on how they do things and take care of thier product and customers.
I wish I could use a lot of the frebbie products out there that are also good and I admire on how most of you people are able to use them just that thier to complicated for me, and for computer dummies like me the money slysoft charges is worth every bit of my cents.

Partial solution (for movie only)
1) rip to hdd with anydvd 6467 and ripit4me 1710
(even ripit4me needed to use the protected sector list)
2) fixvts in ripit4me had probs (problem 5) if prompted, just click yes (to all the prompts, about 30 times)
3)vob blanker, click on vts 27 vob, the movie and open
a) blank out # 3 and 4 in the cell list and then apply
4) use shrink in reauthor mode (and drag and drop the main movie about 6016 Mb) and in set start end frames, start frames after the first time you see the universal logo (the end credits appear first)end titles will reappear correctly at the end, although it appears I lost about 2 seconds between the transition and the end titles
I'm really having a problem with this. I go to VOB when I enter video_ts I get a slew of pointer mismatches that go on until I am unhooked from VOB. I also tried h 0 success. Can you steer me in the right direction? Thanks.

At the top of this page I mentioned what worked for me, however, you may not have the tools that I mentioned. On the other hand, I finally read this entire thread and there are other remedies that may be prevalant to your cause.....might be a good idea to read it, if you hadn't.
Best of luck

Hi Folks. Thanks for all the good advice!
What worked for me:
ripped with DVDFab 5.0.9.0,
ran FixVTS over the whole VIDEO_TS folder,
VOBBlanked cells 1, 3 & 4, and
Finished it up with DVD Shrink.
My question is (to 1bonehead, I think...) how did you determine that blanking cells 3 & 4 (and later, 1, for the title credit loop) would fix the structure enough to be usable? For future challenges, is there anything "special" one should consider when trying to handle a problem like this?
Thanks again.

Easy, those were the cells that vobb said were reused (why), so it led me to suspect structure protection.
Therefore, good old trial and error as to which cells to blank

I got it to work. After I decrypted the Main Movie through DVD Fab, I ran it through DVD shrink.
Since the film will not re-author, the entire film is enclosed in the folder called unreferenced material. The size of the file is 3,549 mb..less than what is required to squeeze on a 4.7 GB DVD R+.
So, since I couldn't re-author, I created a folder in "My documents", put the mouse on "unreferenced material" and backed up the file.
Then I burned it with Nero 6. It works!
Hope this helped everyone.
