Try in Misc then..don't have a clue what kind of unleash that is?? probably some softmod thing. Don't try changing your dash apart from network settings.

Network unreachable..either the ethernet card is disabled..the firewall is blocking..the xbox has FTP set to no, or you have the numbers wrong somewhere. Check everything again.. lol

Well I'm running unleashx0.38.0515A so there shouldn't be any difference except im using it as an application not a dashboard. there must be a section to set up the network..one of the 2 options I gave you will have a network settings part.

HELP!!!
I have so many problem when trying to FTP into my xbox:
1. On an EvoX boot CD, how do you 'SAVE' your changed settings, because whenever I change the network settings (IP, DNS etc) and quit, the settings go back to default.
2. If I leave the settings panel open, when I connect using the crossover cable method, the IP is still the default.
I followed all of PimpDawg's instructions but nothing seems to work.
MAN, I AM SO P.O if you know what I mean.
So please help.. Anybody?

Simple answer..On a boot cd you can't save settings.(how do you propose to write anything to the disk?) You need to install the dash and when it's in then change the settings.. save&exit.

Hello. I'm having problems FTPing into my Xbox, and I hope you guys can help.
I don't know jack about the Xbox mod scene, but I am relatively familiar with networking in general. The Xbox is a friend of mine who is on vacation. Some friends and I have recently gotten into the XBConnect stuff, and thus some custom maps.
Ok. He has "Xecuter2" installed. I haven't noticed anyone using this on here so I'm thinking it might not be the best mod. It's also pretty old (him having had it as long as I've known him). Anyways. I've tried both setups suggested, including going through a router with DHCP or with two straight through cables through a hub (should work identical to a single crossover cable) using static IPs. The DNS servers weren't assigned through DHCP, but that shouldn't matter right?
Now here's the thing. I can view the Xbox's HDD through FireFox no problem with either setups. So I know everything is hooked up right and they're communicating together. Originally I thought maybe my router was just blocking the port, but the hub proved that wrong. Plus I think I opened it anyways. I'm really scratching my head here. I've tried anonymously and with an account. I've tried several different FTP clients (not that it should matter), and all simply don't recognize the Xbox. Are there any special settings I need to turn on, or is this software just screwy (wouldn't it be convenient as hell if I could just connect this to my home network :-) )?
Anyways, thanks alot in advance.

I need some help...
Ive modded my xbox with the simple EvolutionX dashboard. I have been trying to connect to my xbox to use FTP but have failed after multiple attempts.
I have set everything from IP addresses to Gateways and have not got any further.
After discussing it with my friend he pointed out that my BIOS and kernal version are different to his successful EvolutionX mod.
My stats are as follows:
BIOS:Quote: (256)4034 Retail (or EliteX/E...
and then it goes off screen
Kernal version.... leads up to Quote: 4034.01
which my friend says is the version xbox dashboard i have, before moddin i ensure it was the newest version with my xbox live account and updating my xbox - it said it was Quote: 5838.01
the newest version but something has obviously happened and it has changed. I have been on Xbox live (XBL) and since the mod and it works fine and no update has been attempted by XBL.
Could this be the cause of my problem? If o what could be done to solve it?
PLEASE HELP
Thank you,
stammy

carrying on from my reply above...
i have checked the settings and the xbox is FTP enable, i am using the correct username and password, the IP and gateways are correct and i have tried the process with the crossover cable and via a router with SmartFTP and FlashFXP and both state that either the machiene has actively refused the connection or that it has been rejected - this usually happens within 5 seconds of connecting. I have even temporarily disabled all firewalls as well to see if that makes a difference but it hasnt.

It's a long time since I used FlashFXP but I think I know what the problem is in both these cases. I'll try to remember how it goes..
Somewhere in the connection settings for FlashFXP..where you put the number and password data there are further settings tabbed at the top. Look through the screens and you will find one with "passive mode" in a list of other settings. Ensure the box is checked and try again.

i was already in passive mode. my friend who is also ftp'ing with his xbox and his xbox wouldnt FTP with my computer as well, and it does on his own computer. The problem is not with the xbox but with the computer. I also have McAfee security centre as well so im not sure wether it is this causing the problems. the FTP software always says that the machine actively rejects it, or words to that effect.

Have you guys put numbers in for default gateway in the pc settings? if so take them out and leave that blank. Also don't need to put /21 on the end of the xbox address because it starts with FTP and the default port is 21.
