Nice to see some of the old faces...
I'm a serial lurker.
So I haven't gone anywhere, I'm doing the 10 year plan to mod status. About a third of the way through it, although I think I'm a year behind already.
Actually a 10 year plaque at the end would be nice.
Keep your headup Neph, and hop into #ad_buddies for some stress relief sometimes.

Hope the mods are working on a good plan to work this out. I for one will work as hard as possible to do whatever the guys at the top want done. I just don't think I have the knowledge anymore that I used to about the new topics. I used to be part of the VCD/SVCD forums and that's not really a hot topic anymore. I've moved onto MPEG-2 and video editing.
I'll give it a shot though!

aD's lost some great members who contributed a heck of a lot..im sure they are all missed...
i was shocked when jeanc1 hung up her boots, she was a software engineer, her knolegde on windows was incredible..
(lol this post looks kinda stupid where it is, should've found this thread earlier)

i think before the noobs join the site instead of just making up a nick and password and there in they should have to read the fourm rules BEFORE they can join and agree to it that may cause less confusion

Following on aabbccdd's thoughts:
Just before they get there access link they should go through the whole rules listings, they would have to agree to every single rule before being alloewd in. Basically they would have to 'agree' not once but 23 or 24 times...
Also, another idea is that there should be mechanism here to automatically correct swearing and inform the mods about it... I saw that somewhere...
And another thing... Minimum age? Absurd as might be but would probably save us a lot of hassle...

I'm with darth on this one - it's zero tolerance with me now. Anyone who argues or smarts off gets kicked, anyone who ignores a warning gets kicked, anyone that looks at me wrong gets kicked, and anyone playing mod gets kicked. I want my old AD back.

if this is just a scroll through aggrement its not goin to do much they would just click ok or i agree and thats it...
How about a survey or questionaire or somethin like that... Like some dating sites have where u put in the info and it has to b approved by admin b4 u can offically join and its still a free site....
Just an idea :)

Hello Gents,
Saw the topic and thought I would drop in and say "Hi". So....HI!
All though most of you don't know who I am, I feel I know many of you from the forums I have searched through for the last year or so and I just wanted to say thanks for all the help in the past.
I was never a big poster but have jumped in where I could be of help. As of recently I got way from AD due to all "kiddy" post I have seen.
On more than one occasion I have read post were someone jumps in to help on a question and they get nothing but flamed in return. So to the mods do your cleansing guys, AD needs it. :) anyway I will try to be more than a lurker but life has got considerably busier for me! ( I am getting married and wedding preparations suck!! How can they charge so much $ for flower, photos, etc. I will never know :P )
So Mods....keep up the good fight... thanks for all the help in the past (Big thanks to ddp and GrandpaBW.. they always seemed to help me with all my PC fiascos) Enough of my rant....
