MistahK: I'm assuming this happened after you tried corrupting your wiikey firmware to read the original? If so, a recovery should do the trick (read the sticky on the top of the forum, download the padded recovery disc 1.9b and read the readme file).

read the readme.txt file carefully: The recovery disc is not supposed to be read!
Just burn it, put it in, and leave it in there w/ the wii running for 3 minutes (I would leave it longer to be safe). Then reset the wii until your wii works again (it will be back at 1.9b firmware though so you probably need to update to 1.9g to play SMG or SSBB)

Just curious, has anyone used wii scrubber on the 8gb .iso and does it work?
If so, to which size is it scrubbed?

MistahK: It may take more than 1 or 2 resets after you have recovered your wii for it to start working again. I thought my wii was toast as well after I did the recovery and it still wouldn't read anything. I went into crazy panic mode and just started resetting and eventually it was back to normal.

It's worth a try (what I did). I think mine was back to normal after about 3 resets (i.e. take everything out of the drive, turn wii off, turn wii on, put game back into drive).
If it still doesn't work after 5 or more times than I don't know what I can tell you.

hey im in the same boat! whats worse is that on top of that, my wii spits my disk out in this order:
Press eject: brings disc out halfway, pulls it back in, then spits it completely out!

Ok, I got the Wiizard version as well and burned on Verbatim +R DL (2.4x and 4x) with ImgBurn and neither disc gets past the white screen after the save file is created. {Wii 3.2U, WiiKey 1.9g} Is there something I missed or does my Wii not like the media, or what? Also, I never tried to play SMG, is there an update from that I need?
I'm sorry if I missed the solution, but I checked a several pages and couldn't find anything...

No. I'm afraid that, for the total abuse of language you have displayed here, that not only will I not let you know, but I prohibit you from knowing if the game is good, and subsequent ownership of said game. Please go take a composition class if you wish to continue to use the internet. Thank you and have a nice day.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ATTENTION: As I have said earlier, the Firmware method to stop the Wiikey is effective, but RISKY, as all procedures involving Firmware updates are.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The main problem is that it could lead to firmware corruption, which will leave the Wiikey in a state of Suspension and even the Recover discs may not work.
Please, make sure that, when burning you Wiikey update/config discs you take the utmost care to ensure successful burns:
1) Use good quality DVD-R media
2) Do not run any other processes when burningthe discs
3) Verify the burn, if possible
NOTE: In the past we have seen episode of firmware corruption which were 'RESISTANT' to recover. In a few instances, users had to run the Recover disc 15 to 20 times to successfully recover the Wiikey. (Keep resetting, then turn it off and on)
Finally, when it comes to updating/recovering your Wiikey, there are only three ways:
1) Wii can read Wii backups: then use regular update/config discs
2) Wii cannot read Wii backups, but read Gamecube discs: then use update/config discs in GCOS mode
3) Wii does not read either Wii or Gamecube backups, then the RECOVER disc is the only solution, unless there is a physical problem, such as soldering, wiring, drive optics, dvd media burn, etc..
Where's the party?!?

I'd like to give my opinion on the whole "Nintendo is trying to stop us from using modchips" discussion. I don't think they care at all.
First of all, Nintendo didn't try to stop us using the Wiikey with this update. If they would want to, a mandatory update would be implemented on all new Nintendo games and via online update. They simply used 2 layered discs. They probably knew it wasn't implemented in the ripping software and the Wiikey's firmware didn't support it, but you can't conclude that they did this to stop the pirating.
Again, if they would really want to, all our Wii's would be bricked.

Can someone help me.. I wanted to play SSBB alot and have been finding information about play SSBB-NTSC-U on my JAP Wii.. I look through the Wii region patcher compatiability list and it stated it works if game is patched with WBB but they are tested with DC2key.
So what about wiikey 1.9g? does it work?

I have a D2Ckey Pal(Europe) Wii and have recently downloaded smash bros NTSC double player iso.
In reading the thread i burnt the iso at 1x speed on (Aone) DL media- the start menu comes up when loading however i just get a black screen on both the 50hz and 60hz wii channels after i push the start button- (the game has been brick blocked and region friied as well).
Any ideas no how to fix this? I suspect it could be my DL media brand, or do i need to do the 15% update trick with 2 disks to get the game working- any help would be appreciated, as i cannot find too much D2Ckey info on this game for PAL wii systems.
