Rahstyles look Your still set to PIO. Look at the bottm line. Where it say current transfer mode. It is set to PIO. What you want to do is back out 1 page and right click on secondary controler and select uninstall then do the same for primary. Now do nothing else but reboot your machine then go check these settings.
To get your nerolog go to documents and settings/"your account"/application data/ahead/nero burning rom/nero history.
Okay i did that.. now it says utlra mode 5 or somthing.. and i could of swore i did it before but somewere in time.. it turned back to pio for some reason

Here is a very good suggestion for you Rahstyles. I am serious and this might make your computer run a little faster. Click start, click run, TYPE msconfig and hit enter. Now in the popup select startup. UNCHECK everything. Reboot - check the little box that will come up asking you to show you this screen eveytime - then do your thing with all those programmys you have running. If something is needed and you can't open it start at the top of this message and recheck the ones that you really need. Must take this box forever to start and shut down.

There are 2 other ways. One is in the registry and the other is in the bios. I'm not about to explain how to do either of these because I feel that the OP will not understand. If any of you guys want to try to explain, feel free to do so. The registry and the bios are 2 areas that you want no mistakes.
99% of all problems are between the computer and the chair.

In total agreement there.
I think it would be awfully difficult to explain the process to some who has claimed to not be that proficient with computers.
Any takers?

If you are asking about my suggestion, it probably won't solve the reading of the drives problem - BUT IT WONT HURT THEM - It might, however, eliminate a conflict or conflicting *.dll. You have more problems than DVD Shrink not reading drives.

Rahstyles if you want to try to reset the registry heres the fastest way I know how. Go to: Start/Run/Type in "Regedit" click ok. Click on the + beside "My computer" Click "+" beside "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" highligh "system" by clicking once on it. Then press "Ctrl" and "F" at the same time. copy and paste this key 4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318 in the find space. Make sure in the find window in left bottom coner All the look at values are checked. Then press enter. Now system tree will open and that key should be highlighted but we're taking no chances. Click it once to make sure its selected. Now right click it and select export. A save as window opens up. I save mine in "my Documents" you choose what ever you want. Name it "dvdkeys.reg" *Note:* The name is not inportant its just so you know which file it is. The ".Reg" however is very inportant. This will not work other wise. press enter. Go to where ever you saved that file. It should have a .reg looking like a cube on it. Right click on it select "open with" chose notepad press enter. Aight go back to the registry and double click on the Key 4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318. The right panel opens up look thru the list and compare this list with your open notepad. This makes sure you backedup the right key. If you have the right key backed up then right click on "lowerfilters" and select delete. Then right click on the "upperfilters" and select delete.
Aight now go to the Device manger and open up the branch of cd-dvd drives and right click on each one and select uninstall. Then reboot. You should have your drives back installed on reboot.
If you have to reenter your cddvd key back into the registery all you have to do is double right click on the backup file you made.
