how to burn ps2 game with imgburn / dvd decrypter?

Please, help me...
still newbie, so i need some helps from the expert here...

i have downloaded ps2 game from site...
the file was in RAR and one .sfv file...

for example:
Digimon Saver Another Mission, when i extract the RAR, its contain:
DMY1G.001,
FS.BIN,
FS.DIR,
IOPRP300.IMG,
OP.PSS,
SLPS_257.16,
SYSTEM,
and one folder IRX with: MCMAN.IRX, MCSERV.IRX, PADMAN.IRX, SIO2MAN.IRX

my question are:
1. can i make a ps2 game from that files?
2. how to make it with imgburn / dvd decrypter? (step by step, please...)
3. is that .sfv file need to be burn to?

Really needs help...

Read the forum rules please. Pay note to #5, but you should read it all

And what you have done is extracted the .rar file too much.

In winrar, you need to go to Options>Settings>Integration.
Make sure to untick ISO
That way your ISO images will show, instead of looking like a rar file




So i hope you kept your .rar files

If not, what you need to do is use Nero
Create New DVD UDF/ISO image
no multisession
Copy all files to the compilation and burn it too disk.

Not sure why you are asking in this post, but Swap Magic is used to play backups, or to launch other PS2 Applications (ELF files)

Many threads on it, just do a search at the top.

But you can't just use a Burned copy of Swap Magic, expecting it too work, unless you already have something like fmcb 1.8 or a modchip etc. But then really no need for it.

How if i burn ps2 game file directly to dvd and play it on my ps2(ps2 slim) will it work??

Not without using a mod chip, fmcb 1.8, Swap Magic or Armax exploit.

The PS2 can't read the backup otherwise

Just check under the INSTALLATION tab in this link on how too Install fmcb 1.8

There are lots of methods

I'm having troubles burning ps2 games to DVD, I used alcohol 120%, DVD decrypter and nero 8, I used Imation DVD-R 16x and TDK DVD+R 1-16x as media for backuping my ps2 games, I tried 1x, 4x, 8x, write speed but still have no luck in making my ps2 recognize it I always get the red screen that says "insert ps2 format disc" I don't have any IDEA what's wrong my ps2 is modded but can't run the ones that I burn. mine is fat ps2 model no. is SCPH-39006 the lens are fine.

If your using TDK DVD+R, then make sure to set your BOOKTYPE in imgburn to DVD-ROM

PS2 can each be different and your PS2 lens may not like the Imation DVD

For DVD-R, try Verbatim, TDK, Sony, something along those lines.

on the select BOOKTYPE part..I'm not really sure what DVD drive I have but my PC is a branded acer aspire AX1800

Super Multi is usually a term associated with LG drives. Try using that Drives settings.

When changing booktype, first select 'Write Image to Disc'

Then in lower right hand corner, you will see a BOOK icon, SElect it and change BOOKTYPE

LG settings doesn't work it just says UNKNOWN(FAILED!) in DVDdecrypter but dvddecrypter kinda recognize it when I tried the LITE-ON tab and set change for: Current Media(for DVD+RW Media) and all the tabs that has setting in change for: Current media(for DVD+RW Media) or Current media(for DVD-RW Media)

I need advice which setting to choose.

You don't really need to change those settings.

And you shouldn't use -RW or +RW on the PS2 as most PS2 won't read them, and the ones that can, those type of discs are very hard on the laser.

I forgot to mention how my moded ps2 works.. it's the kind where you have to press and hold the power button 3 seconds to boot a ps1 game, but in playing ps2 games it's just put the game disc in the disc tray then reset and play that how my ps2 works with it's modchip.

I'm just using TDK DVD+R 1-16x right now. So what about setting up the BOOKTYPE?? I'm having troubles I can't change anything to DVD-ROM. also still don't know why LG settings isn't recognized.

Does this means I have to buy DVD-R Vertabim?? and still setup the booktype? or not change the BOOKTYPE If I will use DVD-R verbatim?

4x speed has always been the speed for Burning PS2 games, there are newer burners etc now, but I still only burn at that speed and have no issues on my V14 or V7

I would suggest trying a different brand, if your sure your laser is in good condition.

yeah the booktype can't be change when I choose LG choose change for: drive(DVD-R) it says unknown(failed).

Maybe your drive is not an LG then. I am not sure what Acer users, but just guessed it was LG because of 'Super-Multi

:D thank you for trying to help me though. I think right now my problem is the booktype thing I'll never know unless I'm able to get over this method. I'll try verbatim DVD-R 1-16x which doesn't require me to set up booktype. I'll write back to you whether I succeed or not.

I have always owned LG drives, so had no issue there setting BOOKTYPE for DVD+R

But I usually use DVD-R for PS2 games.

I think you will be fine if you try Verbatim DVD-R

Oh I get it why imageburn can't change the booktype of my TDK DVD+R..

the burner doesn't support changing the booktype..
the dude that posted the thread has the exact type of optical drive I have.

his and my optical drive is: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH41N MN01

so I really gotta settle for SONY DVD-R and VERBATIM DVD-R. I tried TDK DVD-R and had no luck(still says please insert ps2 format) lens still fine I just played recently. But I'm still trying to find a store where somebody sells SONY and VERBATIM.
