Just tell me where to send the money! Thx for the update.
"All drives should be updated to Lite Touch + (LT+) firmware if playing on XBOX live. Samsung drives and pre-78/79 Hitachi drives do not utilize AP 2.5. All other drives are considered to be detectable by Microsoft (YMMV). Make sure all rips are ABGX verified, contain SSv2, and patched AP2.5 (where needed). XGD3 must currently be burned on new drive with PC Burner Max firmware for 100% rip. All modded consoles can be potentially unsafe for use on XBOX live."

It's a Christmas Miracle! *sheds tear* Can you imagine how much time this will save you? Think of all the drives you can flash in one day!

A "must have"; I don't know about that. All it does is eliminate the need for a pc. And I definitely wouldn't trust a stand alone unit which has just been released over a pc which methods has been proven for years now.
Plus you still have to prep the drives needing flashed. Meaning adding switches, cut & repair traces.

Weird, modking30 said the opposite in his post about this....no cutting or soldering necessary

jp's original post above is a copy of what Maximus has on his site. Notice in the "No more" section it doesn't say anything about no cutting. Cutting traces was a HUGE HUGE HUGE deal for many people, so if it were so with the Lizard, I'm pretty sure Maximus wouldn't forget to mention it. All it states is that you don't need your pc anymore.

No where at all does he what so ever make mention of no more cutting.
Over in X-S, Foundmy posted:
Quote: As I stated before maximus informed that if you have to prep a drive currently (rebuild pcb, cut traces etc) you still have to do it with this, this just removed the need for a PC.
I think some people jumped the gun when they stated it didnt need cut traces etc.

Thanks for the info bhetrick. It's kinda neat that it can do it all in one little package but if it just removes the need for the PC and you still have to cut traces then it's pretty pointless for me and I probably won't be getting one

Well for me, it's just waiting to see the features of both group's device. Then I'll make a choice. There has been at least 10 times (or more) that I have been out of town and someone who's sees my box in action wants their box done on the on the spot this tool would come in handy.

One thing that would definitely worry me; how does the Lizard get power? Does it have an ac adapter or battery powered?
If batteries then what happens if you're mid-flash and the batteries die?

I know it sound almost unbelievable, but about 8 years back i was doing a bios update on a pc and halfway through the write stage we had a power cut. I think id be using duracells and new ones almost every other write

if it's battery only you could easily get a 9v power supply and splice it in

Shame that it still requires all the cutting. If someone came out with a device that could do everything without having to do any prep work would make a ton of money in a very short time.

Does this work on the Liteon 93450C which requires to scratch the PCB and solder some wires?
-edit - just read the message above... that is a shame. Still a nice lil device for those that don't want to use a PC
sum1 already had stevedawg and stevedawg85 is longer than 10 chars :(

It sprinkles a wee bit of region free fairy dust on the drive.
Everyone knows that.
