xbox 360 CFW Update and dash update?

Ok , i have LT+1.9 im gonna send out JUST my dvd drive to get flash updated. Should i Update My dashboard first, even tho i know its going to reflash my drive back to stock. since when i get my drive back i would have to update the dash anyways.
?

If you update the dash, it will be flashed to stock, and you will most likely be flagged for ban, so have them update it for you (but you have to send the entire console).
Whoever you send it to, let them know it needs to be:
1: flashed with stock firmware.
2: dash updated.
3: flashed with the latest LT+.
4: email you your key and or original FW.

The ban im not worried about. I lost the original Key, so i had no choice but to update and let it flash over it. I have 2 360s one is for live and one is not.
But i did update and all is good for now. it has a stock Firmware, and gonna have him back it up and email it to me so i have a back up of it.

If you are going to get your offline console flashed and want to play backups of your xgd3 copy protected games i would wait.Going online to get the latest dash will stop you playing these games due to a silent update of the dae.bin file.I would wait till after the 6th dec.This is when microsoft plan to roll out the new dashboard,then send off your console/dvd drive to be flashed back to stock then updated and then to LT 3.0 which should be out very close to the new dash update.The new firmware will enable you to have the latest dash plus enable you to play all your backups.If your not going to go online with that console the dash can be updated offline with a usb,as long as its version 13146.But again there is no way of telling that new games will have this dae.bin or other security measures placed on the disk itself.Personally i would wait hopefully mid dec and the new 3.0 firmware has been said to not run ap2.5 checks.If your still unsure google c4eva and read what is deemed safe/unsafe.

Yeah, now is definitely not a good time to get a 360 flashed if you're paying someone to do it. Wait for LT+ 3.0 to come out and then do it, or just learn how to do it yourself.

ive read up, on it, theres not one tutorial thats the same as the other.
I have a lite on, i just updated the dash, since the guy lost my firmware now it has an offical firmware that i can back up. ( remember this is not , nor ever will be a Live console) but with the tricks to unplug the power and plug it in fast, etc, how to tell if it worked before erasing etc, not everyone puts in there tutorial EVERY little bit to look for, most are just "basic" how tos, which can screw up alot of noobs like me.
I would love to learn, just for my self so i don't need to send it out every time....

So to understand you correctly you have 1 console for original games to play online and another you want to have the latest dash and updated firmware to play backups offline.You said in a earlier post that you already updated the dash on the flashed(offline console).This has flashed you console back to stock but with the latest dash.WHY?? You also state that the guy lost your firmware.Its not the firmware he lost as all firmware will be the same for your particular model of liteon dvd drive.What he has lost is your dvd key which is unique to your console as no 2 dvd keys are the same in any console.If he flashed your drive in its first instance then he would of had to probe a point on the dvd itself to extract a liteon dvd key.In other words he can do it again.Im assuming you want to play "copied" games on the flashed console offline,but if you updated the dash then you have updated the dae.bin on that console as well.This silent update will stop all xgd3 copy protected games that you may of backed up.This includes titles like mw3,driver,skyrim,battlefield etc..So to conclude if you updated on or after the 16th November the backups will not work.You will have to wait until firmware v 3.0 comes out which does not do the ap2.5 replay checks on backed up games.Or even better buy the kit your self,do the knowledge,read the jungleflasher tut and save yourself the hassle of sending the drive off to be flashed.
