Dude what are you on about.... he is trying to uncompress it to his System HDD which mean it needs to be ok or else nothing will work. Like I said read before you post. He hasn't even attempted to put the anything on to any HDD *if you bothered to read) he says he thinks a password has been put on the HDD and he can't even access it.
Also like I said earlier (which you are just repeating) I said that the file he downloaded might be crap (which I doubt it) because he can't seem to uncompress 2 RAR files he has downloaded.

Hey Tong
Finally, a time when we're both up, could you maybe move to CA or see if the UK will change their time zone (-;/ he he
I had an encouraging moment last night, when I extracted 5 rar files, it became 92, I then extracted the first file of those and it created just one file, only this time it has a WBFS icon next to it, not another damn rar file, so I decided to burn it. Burn failed at 85% but it looked like a disc error burn, not a file issue (confession, I bought cheap Verb "lifestyles" last week which I almost never use) so I almost did it I think. File size looked good, 4,699,978,868byt. I just removed all my extra proggies to avoid conflicts, only thing I have are by your info I think, BitLord, WBFS and I updated BitComet as it instructed me to on my PB download (last download said I needed at least BitComet .085 or later). BitComet and BitLord aren't the same type of proggies are they? Anyway, I'm going to start from the beginning today and simplify it the way I think you want
Thank you Tong, Thank you Vato

If it says wbfs next to it you need wii back up manager to make it in to an iso. Google wii back up manager and get it and run that file thru it, im at work now so cant remember what you have to click but its really easy just make sure you put the iso in a easy to find place when it asks for destination folder maybe create a new folder desktop and send it there

since its 4.37gb i would say it is an iso but has wbfs manager associated with iso files which is why he is getting the wbfs icon. fist i would check the properties to see if it is an iso if it is it could be burned or i would load the iso on a flash drive using wbfs manager for testing prior to burning

Wii backup manager, gotcha. After reading I see it's gonna ask me if I want it under one of these formats FAT32, WBFS NTFS, would you tell me which to choose?
Thx again

Hey Guys, if you're asking about my lappie, it's using an NTFS file system, if you're asking the system of my HDD game drive, I don't know yet but I'll look upon instructed.
I have a Vista 32, plenty of speed and space but I've never plugged the HDD into it. Hope that's enough info. I put wii backup on my pc.

UPDATE Well, if nothing else you techno-wizards ought to have fun cracking this, I barely care about the game any more, now I just want to see who figures it out! OK, so to try and give you as much to work with as possible, I decided to plug my HDD into my lappie and at least look at what's on it to answer your questions, and I chose "view files and folders" knowing it was safe, and what do I see? 115 movies with perfect little jpegs so I know which they are, all associated with VLC as that's what I use for video, and nothing else!!!Dudes, that's pretty effe'd up right there, first because I haven't been able to find where he stashed the movies anywhere in Homebrew, and I looked everywhere in Mplayer I could think of, and second because I see no other files or folders for the games, nada! Now, I'll try and think like you and ask if I was supposed to pull the 2 gig flash card out of my Wii and plug that into my lappie first and that's why I only see the flicks? But I'm not messing with anything till you tell me, so there's no possibility of a "user-end" error. I can't be screwing it up if I just follow directions...

SUMMARY: Since we now have a whole thinktank of Homebrew Techno-Wizards tasking this, I thought it would make sense to summarize where we are and what we've tried so nobody is out of the loop, suggesting things already attempted or spitballing without info. I will be as brief and succinct as possible without leaving out possibly pertinant info.
I have been trying to take a DL's game and turn the 5 rar files it have me into an ISO.
I unrar'd those and it gave me 92 more files, 30 were more rar icons, 62 were the white folder icons with the corner folded over and named r31/r32/r33 and so forth.
I next unrar'd those by choosing the first rar file, when it processed it gave me a rar file on my desktop called new image file 1. Open that and inside that are 2 files, one rar of 4,699,979,776, the other has a WBFS icon, under size it says 92 (remember, that's the number of files after I unrar'd) under "type" it says local disk and if I right click on that file it has options like extract to specific folder/repair archive/view file/select all/extract without confirmation and so on. It does not show the options of a file waiting to be unrar'd like "extract here/extract files/burn using imgburn etc so it's not a file waiting for an action I assume. When I tried this the simplest way, just right click and extract it made a file of just 4.37g, not 4.7. I don't believe this is due to a bad file as I've tried two already, one from PB, another from Mega and one had some positive comments and thank you's. I am not remotely versed at Homebrew but I'm computer literate, I know how to unzip (unrar) files, so it's not me. I've probably complicated it through desperation trying other methods, Poweriso and such, but this isn't because I am a complete tool, something isn't allowing ISO's to be created. I am, however, very experienced in ripping and burning even complicated vids and I have full paid versions of Convertx and use only Verbatims and my burner was recently replaced, it's fine, but that's too much info, we will never need that until someone can figure out why I can't make a single ISO. Oh, and lastly, I did manage to create one ISO last night with Poweriso, had the picture of the disk and all, but the burn failed, I had yet to add WBFS so maybe that's why. Well, the burn actually didn't fail, it went to the end and all, but I couldn't open it in a virtual drive I was using.
Think that brings you all up to speed, release the hounds!

Hey, that'd be great, I have a plan. Find the file for Lego Pirates (prefer NTSC not PAL in the US, I don't know how to convert), you download one and send me the link only after you have successfully loaded it yourself, this way I will know with no exceptions it isn't a bad file I'm wrecking myself over. This was never about a "free game", I've got 40 bucks and could have made another $500 in the time I spent on this, it was about learning how to do it for myself. Lastly, I swear on my eyes I followed your instructions to the letter, not once, but several times, it's just not making an ISO.
Here's proof. I DL'd the file, right clicked on the first one of 5 rar files and chose "extract here". That made 92 more files. I then right clicked on the first of those files, chose "extract here" again, that made a file sized 4.37 that was "damaged".
Now tell me, do you see any mistakes on my part? Nope! I even tried it another way suggested, I DL'd the file, took the 5 rars and made a file for it on my desktop, right clicked on file #1 and extracted it to the empty file on my desktop, that made 92 files again, I extracted the first one of those, another failure and no ISO at all. Can't say I didn't follow directions, you have the exact path I took using your directions, I tried another guys method too with the same result. I also grabbed another game file from Mega and did all this all over again, the only difference was I'd added WBFS to my system. I don't like asking people for a light of my cigarette, so you can bet your bottom dollar I wouldn't waste half a dozen total strangers valuable time if I hadn't exhausted every method I could find on my own and I wouldn't ask for guidance if I couldn't follow basic instructions given to me. Let me know when you find a file you've DL'd yourself for it NTSC if you would my friend
Thank you one last time

I can't be screwing it up if I just follow directions...
you cant see the games, the only way you can is by using wbfs. but i URGE you TO UNPLUG THAT HD FROM YOUR PC right now ! one wrong click you could lose all games. leave the hd alone leave the sd card alone. let me post you the damn game lol
ALREADY DONE

Thank you Tong, Thank you Vato

shall i just post you the game? lol

That's really cool of you, I too saw the comments that said it was good, all I can imagine now is I forgot to mention I've had connectivity issues the last couple of days, my explorer locking up, getting kicked off the net but I didn't see that happen during my downloads...I'll just buy the darn thing but I really want to figure out what's going on. The whole point of this was so I could learn how to manage my own gaming system, so I'll keep trying on my own, leave the good people of the boards to more important things. My connection problems started the same time I loaded Pirate Bay and it's still seeding, can't shut it off, think my one game more than covered my seed ratio. I should have organized my ports etc before using a bittorrent. I don't keep my PC as clean as I should so the added outside activity isn't helping.
Don't worry, I won't mess with updates or homebrew, I'm humble enough to know my limitations. Thank you and to all those who gave so freely of their time.
