Has anyone seen the differences in the "AD webpage"? hmmmmmmmmmmm....
93 actually if the same scale is used. ;) BUT is DVDInfo the same as Nero and with the scan using a Pioneer to boot. ;) I'm definitely NOT knocking the burn/scan, it's fantastic, I just want to see it with a Lite-On (or BENQ) for curiosities sake. :D
I'll have to try that progie and see how the gm's drives like it. ;)
Thanks for the info blivetNC! ;)

Coulda sworn I responded to this earlier today...
Anywho, I really don't pay much attention to the percent score given by any program. As Blivet pointed out there will be a difference between the way the two programs interpret the scores and report them. This why I typically just look at the total PIF's and high PIF spike. Rob did a good job as a comparison between the two programs and there isn't really a big difference in the actual data from either...20 PIF's I think it was.

I agree LOCO. BUT I've never used that progie and really never looked at the results. ;) Did you scan with the Pioneer? If so that's a surprise. I know that Nero CD/DVD Speed took them off the list for scanning for numerous reasons. One was the inconsistency compared to the standard Lite-On result. (me thinks....lol)
Good point on the "eye candy" thing again (don't pay attention to QS), AND I've always said that's the case. Doing these things is for fun really and I know that Cincinnati Robert has been on a quest to break 7 PIF for about a year now. hehehe. NOT gonna happen!!! :-(

I need a little advice. Newegg is out of my favorite +R DVDs. These are the choices I have!
Memorex
Memorex 4.7GB 16X DVD+R 100 Packs Disc - Retail
TDK
TDK 4.7GB 16X DVD+R 100 Packs Disc - Retail
Verbatim
Verbatim 4.7GB 16X DVD+R 100 Packs Disc - Retail
I usually use these, but Newegg is out of stock and I need DVDs.
RiDATA 4.7GB 16X DVD+R 100 Packs Disc - Retail
What would you recommend, given these choices?
Best Regards,
Russ

The Verbatims are the only choice from that list.
If you would consider another source, go for some TYs (Taiyo Yudens) from Meritline.com, Supermediastore.com or Rima.com

Here are my choices, in order of preference.
1. Verbatim. (On sale at Best Buy this week, look for the made in Taiwan)
2. The Ebola Virus.
3. A heart attack.
4. The Alien from "Aliens" firmly attached to my face.
5. TDK, Memorex, being dipped in molton lead. (A tie here)
Office Depot's home brand is Ritek brand media.
I hope this helps. Memorex is always a crap shoot, one never has any idea as to who makes it until you get it home and take the wrapper off. (Kinda like sleeping with your blind date before you see her.) TDK is made by CMC-Mag corporation now.

blivet your choices seem bleak at best. lol. I'd go with choice #1 if I had to pick between all those great items... :D

cincyrob,
Boy, you guys are confusing the hell out of me! How are you supposed to figure out which Verb is which, short of buying them and checking them with Media Index? I haven't bought anything but the Riteks in years. The last 100 I bought had about 30 F16-001s (which suck) mixed in with the usual R03-004s. I've been using the R03s since the version 002 with great success! I was not pleased getting a mix of good and bad like that!
Best Regards,
Russ

I know I may have been the first to say something about the MII Verbs. ;) I've been reading again (yep it's possible.. :P) and looking at some of the scans on the MII Verbs and one of 2 things is happening.... 1) the discs are getting better or 2) the drives (some of them at least) are learning better write strategy with the disc. My guesses really since I haven't seen any "official" word on it. :)
Either way the Verbs are the better consistent choice of the 3 you gave, next would be Memorex (sorry guys but it's true) then the TDK!!

I can live with the Memorex if they are RICOH JPN variety, but why gamble when you have a known winner- Verbatim disks. As mentioned in numerous posts everywhere on Ad, Memorex = Crap Shoot.

Christ, I can't win today! As fast as I get my Newegg order straight something else goes out of stock. I'm having to settle for a 65W 64x2 4800+ instead of the 45W 4450E AMD I wanted! I'm sick as a dog and I have computer repairs up to my hipbones, Handpiece repairs waiting at my other job and I can't do anything! Now I'm trying to sort out which DVDs to buy because Newegg ran out of the Ridatas I normally use and I'm out of disks! It's like grease on a glass doorknob, can't get the door open no matter what! LOL!!
cincyrob,
I have a silly question! How am I supposed to read the bar code when I'm buying over the net?
Thanks for all you guy's help though! It is appreciated!

Russ
