Hey guys I am new here, so nice to meet all of you.
Now i have scoured the forums before posting this problem, yet i still cannot find a definitive answer. I downloaded a movie in the format of h264 mp4. I am encountering more lately that most blue ray ripped movies will not play on my 360 due to the codecs etc being used. I am trying to look for a definitive way to re encode movies when i have these issues.
So here's the details so far on a specific movie:I have my pc connected to my xbox so i can stream from the pc. I have no problems with avi etc and a few times i have even had h264 movies work. So i saw another post where someone had used a software called MediaInfo to see what codecs were running in the container how the movie was encoded etc.and I have that info for you.
Also, i did what many others have said to do as well and changed the file extension to avi, took the movie out of the folder and put it back in as an avi, but my xbox is still saying it cannot play. I also tried using a usb stick and popping the movie on there and trying to play it in my 360 to no avail. Any suggestions? I am assuming my issue on this particular movie is with the 7 frames as i have heard he 360 supports way less, i think 2? The audio format seems fine but if it is the frames, is there converting software out there i can use that wont screw up the quality too much?? NOTE: i changed the extension to avi but that was not the original extension. Here's the details:

Try using it and see if you get a usable file.
Using StaxRip right now but i keep getting a bunch of errors and it does not finish the file. If anyone is familiar with StaxRip and wants to take a look at the error logs and see what i am possibly doing wrong, please let me know :(
