I want to buy an interactive gaming unit for my 7 yr old son for Christmas. We have a Wii with tons of games, but my wife and son played a Disney game at Disney's California Adventure that was interactive and they were hooked! (I think it was the X360) What is the best unit for interactive gaming, either already out (Xbox 360, WiiU, PS3 or coming (PS4) etc? This won't be used much for bloody war games for a while, more adventure stuff appropriate for a 7 yr old and a wife who works out.
Thanks Guys
Difficult question on the whole.I have always been bias regarding the xbox vs ps products. My children love the kinects and with the new depth perception on the xbox one camera it will be an even better product which is bundled at launch.Dont quote me on this but from my understanding the ps4 will not have their kinects version at launch(wait for the barrage of corrections!we have had some laughs with games like kinects sports, just dance series and EA fitness products,so for your 7 year old, wife and yourself i would sway to the xbox one. They are pros and cons to each console and i believe just googling xbox one vs ps4 will lighten the choice.I think it is paramount that you do some research yourself to conclude your final purchase.
I would wait for another three months to see what the Xbox One and PS4 really can do and what range of games you can get for them that will suit your needs. They'll be both out before Christmas, so at mid-January there should be some good tests and so on. So far we have lots of rumors, but not many real facts. Also the Wii-U may be good for you. I personally don't like it's concept and think that the hardware is atleast one generation behind (it's kind of embarrasing that they advertise it to be with HD-support), but Nintendo has a wide range of exclusives, that are suitable for your kid's age range.
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.
