Hmmm those Verbatim +R's should be working fine on your v12. As someone said, those Samsung burners arent renouned for their quality. Try and burn one on a friends burner if you can, onto your verbatim dvd+r's and see if it works in your PS2.
i would suggest www.meritline.com and the dvd-r media "BeAll" do a search for that. max speed is 4X. it's relatively inexpensive. i just bought a bunch for some low price. i havent had any problems with any of the media that i bought from them. out of the 150 that i've had so far, i jacked up about 5 dvd's total, and that was because i wasnt burning at 4X on the media. some of my dvd+/-RW settings got thrown off so i was burning at something other than 4X and that caused problems. also, do NOT get anything that has HyperMedia on it. i got a 25spindle and nothing ever worked. i got one of my friends to try to use the media with no luck either. so just cuz it sounds good, doesnt make it so.
Never heard of Beall before. Could you run a disk through this http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/ and let me know the media code because brand name means nothing.
yeah, i hadnt heard of them either until some time last year. TRUST ME. they work well at 4X. if you feel the need to burn slower, they might cause problems. just so you know. http://www.meritline.com and search for beall.
i dont have any of the media with me right now. the pc i'm on does not have a dvd drive, and i'd prob'ly forget to do it by the time i actually had the chance to do that.
Finally got it working, seeing i'm using a v12 slimline ps2 with a SwapToolPro i decided to have a look and see if everything was installed okay... finally ended up taping down the little switch near the ethernet port.. and voila.. it works. That's why it wasn't giving me a toc refresh because it was noticing that i was opening the player..
I was having the same problem but the mistake i was making was not sliding the slide card all the way to the left after I pushed the tray back in. Very Annoying :)
I am a newbie to all shizat so i have the same problem but in the same respect much different.I bought a PS2 early so by the time the new v12 slim came out, my was fu ked so i bought a new v12 simline thinking that it would retain its value better. Anyway i bought a combo from modchipstore.com for a swap magic 3.6 and the magic switches. so i put all those stupid little things in and played the swap magic. after i went on to their site and found out wth to do, i did that but it gave me an error reading disc, plz give me some help with this if i don't get this working i will probably destroy my ps2 in a manner of ways.
