@ffonlly. Sorry about that. I wasn't implying that your version was a torrent. I was merely letting off steam in general about the pirates using other people's tools and not giving them credit where it's due. I apologise if I gave the wrong impression.

I think we could do with some verification on the LAN play thing. I personally don't have a net card, but anyone who has, could they verify if it works or not, just to put this issue to bed.

Hey Guys,
i could really need some help backin up that game!
For first i did everything like shown in the Step by Step thing, but as i found out, the Ripkit is updated to 1.0.2 so some options in that kit changed... well thereīs no Rip button anymore and the Kit didnīt ask me if i want to delete some files... for second thereīs now:
Extract Rebuild Patch Files
What do i have to do and in which order...
For Third, do i have to burn that thing on a DVD+R or DVD-R cauz when i made everything the way i thought and burned it on a DVD+R just the 2005 Sony Computer Entertainment bla bla bla was shown and then just black picture, thatīs it... iīm working with a Swap Magic 2.0 DVD.
Thx for ya help guys, i die over here!!!!

Full instructions for the new version are in the full tutorial kit by sonix on my site at http://www.thefileforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4 (NOTE: You need to download both parts of the tutorial AND you need CDVDGEN in addition to the files in the kit) You should also get the newest PssDown which is at http://www.thefileforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9
As for DVDs to use it really doesn't seem to make a lot of difference which you use or the book-type you set. I will say though, that some PS2 modchips seem to struggle to boot DVD+Rs so I generally stick to the minus ones. That is only my opinion. Results may vary with different consoles.

@Sonix. The time you've taken out to work on this project is highly commendable. I was just wondering if it would be possible to recode the tool to work at ISO level as that would cut out like two or three stages (And programs). Just an idea.

Windows NT or 2000:
\WINNT\system32\MSCOMCT2.OCX

I don't think that the problem is the Old Swap Magic 2.0 CD because I have a sniper chip in my ps2. I have the same problem like you... I made all like sonix wrote it on his page.
But I also get a black screen after the sony information.
and I also have the PAL version 51719
What could be wrong??
I used Pss Downsampling tool 1.00 could this cause that problem??
Thanks 4 help

Hey Daroo, no matter if u use PSSDown or just delete the files like shown in the first tutorial, i deleted them because the PSSDown failed because of some mistakes, whatever i don care about the videos i just want to have a functional Backup, but we have the same problem, so itīs not the fault of the Downsampling Software.
We have to find out what we make wrong somewhere else in the whole procedure... itīs just weird that so much guys get a full working Backup with that tutorial and we donīt!

DJ-SpRo , lets compare what we have. I also have the PAL 51719... and I am sure that I made the files in the correct order. I also got 1,22gb for the file. So what could be wrong??
But I'm glad that I'm not alone with that problem

Well all that i was trying to do for now is that i made a copy onto a DVD-R and a DVD+R. This makes no difference.
My Folder had less than the 1,25GB. I also made sure that i kept the 20r60r file... i made a Backup with DVD Decrypter of the original DVD (just to make sure i don work with any bad torrent images)
i hade no failure messages between the whole procedure (except for the PSSDown Tool, so i deleted the Execute Folder and executed all again and deleted the files as shown in the first Tutorial)
Well i absolutly have no idea where the problem is!!!

I'm sure that the problem has nothing to do with DVD-R because I usually use this media and it's still working fine. Well I don't know which 20r60r files you arer allowed to delete or not but I used Pss Downsampling tool 1.00 and chose 50% and got finally 1,22gig. And in the tutorial is written that i should drag all .pss files into the program and that wa what I did and as already written I got 1.22gig so everything should have worked.
Well I'm sure that I did nothing wrong and everything like it was described in the tutorial. I could imagine that the problem is either caused by the final patching of the filed. But I got the message that everything was successfully patched. Or the problem has to do with the size of the intro.. but I don't think so.
Well from which country do you come from?

I'm sure we'll get it work. Well did you make the correct order of the files in the ISO? Well it took me at least 30 min to do this because I also had to make the files in tghe folder in the correct order. Did you do this?
But somehow I think that he can't find some file and this is the reason fpor the black screen
