Lords of dogtown (sony-columbia-tristar)Ive tryed dvd shrink with
any dvd.(Invalid dvd navigation structure error)DVD Shrink re-authored it gives me the menue list, main movie list title3 title6
title23 title33,and the extra list, but none are the main movie.
I had an older movie do this (menace to society) but was able to use dvd decripter in ISO read to do it.I also tryed dvd decripter on this one it hangs up at 1% where is the missing main movie at?

Could this be just a bad disc?

i am sorry guys i am new to this what i did to get lords of dogtown to work is i used anydvd5.4.4.1 and moved all of the vts files into a folder. this may take awhile but then i used DVD Decrypter and backed up the files into a folder on my desk top.after this i used DVD Shrink 3.1 and it is backing it up so it will fit onto a regular dvd and not a duallayer dvd

LOL tighthoe theres a MUCH easier way to backup your dvds than what you did there. First anydvd runs in the background and removes the encryption from the dvd it DOESNT encode so put in your dvd let anydvd do its job then open CloneDVD 2 and backup the disc thats all the steps you need to do ,you dont have to save it to your harddrive.heres a guide to use the programs.

http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/index.html

follow that and it will much easier

and remember to use good blank media as in Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim and burn at 4X max. you will have perfect backups everytime

Those having trouble, check out this thread at the cdfreaks forum. Go straight to page2 of the thread to read the solution. The very most current versions of Clone and Any should work now for this movie.

Tried decrypter with and without anydvd (5441) didn't work. Got the newest version of dvdfab decrypter(free) 2950 I think . Ripped to harddrive and then shrink took care of the rest. P.S. I have faith in anydvd and sure they will correct the problem

johnnyd54, The last update to AnyDVD, ver.5.4.4.1 addressed this movie. No problem. Use CloneDVD 2 with AnyDVD running & this one is easy. Slysoft took care of this before the release. They rule! I can't speak for any other software, but CloneDVD 2 with AnyDVD running makes this one very easy & fast. No need to rip to hard drive. That is as long as you have both reader & burner. If you have AnyDVD, I Highly recommend you download CloneDVD 2, which Slysoft provides with the usual 21 day Free trial. This combination so far is unbeatable. It took 19 minutes 53 seconds to do a Perfect back-up of the main movie. Using Sony Accucore DVD+R at 8X.

Use The Best Media for The Best Burns! TYs, Verbs,(Made in Taiwan) Sony MIJs (YUDEN000 T02), Sony Made in Taiwan DVD+R 16x, Maxell MIJ, RITEK G05.

I think we may be talking about different versions of the DVD release here. I think you have had your success with the theatrical DVD release of the movie. The R1, US, Unrated Extended Cut version AKA the "Unleashed" version (I think) which only has a Widescreen version on the disk, is still giving people problems with Any and Clone. I just got my copy from amazon today and it won't back up.

I've checked out several forums and up to date info is this version is still a problem for the very latest versions of CloneDVD, AnyDVD combination.

This will take you to page two of a cdfreaks thread that has been running for about a week:

The "Unleashed" version with Widescreen only IS the one I have. I had no problem making the Back-Up. As I mentioned in my post. I says,"Unleashed" right on the disc. U.S. Region 1 version. Also, this one I have IS the "Unrated" version as well. Main movie was No Problem at all. Not sure why so many are having isssues with it.
Best Regards to you too Whisperer! :)

Well, I'm gonna make this my project for tonight. Gonna try ripping with different drives, which of course, have different firmwares and optical characteristics and see if I can get your success.

I set up CloneDVD to rip the movie only, uncompressed on one Disk (leaving the multitude of special features to be burned to a second disk). But my movie-only rip konked-out at 79% and would not respond to "retry". The only thing I left on the movie-only disk was the Sony logo and the FBI message (I just love leaving that one on the disk). Those title sets were way down at the bottom of the list of TS's.

Like I said I tried with AnyDVD 5441 and it wouldn't work. I don't have CloneDVD but it worked with dvdfab decrypter. I am a big fan of AnyDVD and usually it always works with just shrink but this time at least my version wouldn't copy. I have never had AnyDVD fail me before and will continue to use it as my basic backup program but it just didn't work on this one. Scouts honour

Whisperer,With CloneDVD 2, make sure "Preserve Menus" is NOT checked, only english audio streams, get it to 100% compression. I will tell you this, I use an LG DVD Reader to read,
an LG Multi-Format DVD Writer to burn. The Movie in the reader, the blank in the burner. In about 16 minutes, Done! No Sweat. I'll be glad to help in any way I can Buddy. Believe me, I am serious, I did this one with ease.

I always want a menu on the backup; never backed up without a menu. I got a 100% movie only readout on the compression bar without removing any audio too.

This is the first movie that DVDDecrypter has an issue with! And since it won't be updated anymore .... DVDFab Decrypter 4.9.5.0 will do it all now! This movie, with it's new encryption, came on fast and I have to compliment DVDFab for keeping up so quickly! Nice! I used DVDFab Express to rip and burn this movie.... no prob.

Just thought that would help you Whisperer. Personally, I could care less about the Menu on a Back-Up. I just thought it may make a difference in your Back-Up problem with this one.
