Don't bother trying to back this one up with Nero Recode, "application hang"! However, like I've seen before, CloneDVD 2 saves the day!

Use The Best Media for The Best Burns! TYs, Verbs,(Made in Taiwan) Sony MIJs (YUDEN000 T02), Sony Made in Taiwan DVD+R 16x, Maxell MIJ, RITEK G05.

I had no problems with R1 version using DvdFab Decrypter to rip on hard drive I compressed with DVDRB but I also did a test run with shrink and it burned fine. @ tighthoe just choose the drive you have the dvd in then make a folder to rip the movie into. I never used dvdfab until dogtown and I found it rather simple to use. Like someone said look at this guide for a better explanation. http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/guides.htm

I know this is kinda off the subject, but I am reluctant to change. I have been using DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink, and Nero to do my burning. I just downloaded AnyDVD and CloneDVD2. I am able to use AnyDVD with Shrink and Nero, but how do I use AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 together?

Make sure AnyDVD is enabled, you'll see the Red Fox in the system tray, insert movie, cancel autoplay.Insert Blank disc, cancel autoplay, Launch CloneDVD 2, go to copy titles, browse for the movie, start the procees and Voila! AnyDVD is only a filter driver, nothing more.

Use The Best Media for The Best Burns! TYs, Verbs,(Made in Taiwan) Sony MIJs (YUDEN000 T02), Sony Made in Taiwan DVD+R 16x, Maxell MIJ, RITEK G05.

Just copied LOD unrated extended cut, using CloneDVD 2.8.5.1 & AnyDVD 5.4.4.1. No problems at all.

see if this helps with DVD Decrypter

To use DVD Decrypter in conjunction with AnyDVD as stated by Olli ->

Proceed to the DVD Decrypter Opening Page - Tools - Settings

I/O Tab - Click on "Elby CDIO-Elaborate Bytes"

General Tab - un-check "Check For Structure Protection"

cheers

QUOTE.Gurm....

If using DVD Decrypter and AnyDVD together, you have to change certain settings in DVD Decrypter, otherwise AnyDVD is bypassed entirely. And I'm not surprised that DVD Decrypter alone can't handle this new Arccos.

Many posts back I was having trouble with the lords of dogtown.

Well, got it to work with CloneDVD and AnyDVD. My issue was that my one month old Lite-On 16x DVD-ROM ripper didn't "like" the original. But my Pioneer AO5 burner, although a slow rip, did just fine.

Well now ... how many of us are using that Lite-On ripper?! Quite a few I'd say. So try the rip in your burner and see if you can get a backup. For any of you who do not know or have never done it, CloneDVD will make a backup just fine with only a single drive used to rip and burn. Just follow the screen prompts after the rip and insert a blank.

Best regards,
Whisperer

if things continue this way, we only have two programs to handle the encryptions game, the great AnyDVD and fabDecrypter. did two copies of LOD last night(9/27)anydvd/1clickdvd and fab/dvd2one main movie only seems to help.

Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.

AnyDVD and DVDFab broke this code same day it was released! Nice going guys! When they start to make the new HD-DVD,Blu-Ray, then look for trouble. Untill then there's a solution if you look for it!

Whisperer, I use ONLY LG readers & LG Writers, I personally do not like Lite-On Drives. Want a good reader? Try the LG GDR-8163B. I have 2 of them & have NEVER had a problem with either one, the LG Burners always work Perfectly too. I am not saying LG has the best, I am saying I have used them for years with no issues at all.

@bunnyrip. just to let you know that 1clickdvd copy is a LG product. i use it when there is not too much compression to apply. never fails.

Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.

Thanks Ireland, I'll check my FW version and probably do that if I'm out of date. I thought that with such a recent purchase, it would have the latest firmware but I guess there's no telling how long a drive sits in distribution or inventory.

Been using to death these lite-ons for 2-years. Only problems were this movie and (I'm sure you will remember ribbing me) the first dvd release of Sneakers.

For those that do use dvdfab decrypter and shrink I found about 1 minute of black space that I had to cut out from the beginning with shrink. Still works if you don't but take a little to start.

OK...My first post, so be kind ;-) But since you guys have been may saviors more than once, it was time to post a reply that others seem to be asking about, but not getting an answer to.
I took the long way to do this but I did it using shrink. I backed up my copy of the Unleashed|lords of dogtown dvd. Heres how:
I have the newest anydvd
I had to DL a new program after reading IHoe's suggestion for the *FREE* but from my one time expereince, excellent prograd DVDFab decrypter.
Used decrypter to copy the whole disk to my hard drive, then I tried to use nero to burn...big mistake...HUGE file, so I had to shrink it.
I used the open files command in shrink, pointed it to the folder on my hard drive, and it did the normal analysis. After that, I operated Shrink just how I have always used it. An interesting note. Not using the DVDFab method, Shrink with any dvd running would let me reauthor, but not open disk (invalid dvd navigation structure error). When I went to reauthor this way, I could not find a file that was anywhere long enough to be the movie. Everything was 20 or 3o minutes long. When I did the above method, everything was clearly where it needed to be, and just backing up the video portion was a snap, the 1h50min movie was where it has always been with the other backups I have had to make previously.
If I am replicating someone elses answer, I apologize, but some of you wanted to know how to get shrink to do it, and this is how I got it done.
Thanks for all the help you have given me.
PS Less than 20 min start to finish
