@cgsuperma

I answered this in another thread, but here goes again. You have to put your file on the HDD because Shrink does not burn, therefore it has to be there for your burning program to use.

You must have Decrypter or Nero, because Shrink does not burn, period.

DVD Shrink description Download

DVD Shrink is software to backup DVD disks. You can use this software in conjunction with DVD burning software of your choice, to make a backup copy of any DVD video disk.

DVD Shrink does not burn DVDs! The output from DVD Shrink is saved as files on your hard drive, which you can then burn to a DVD-R using separate burning software, such as the software provided with your DVD-R drive.

Why Use DVD Shrink :
Most DVD titles are designed to prevent you from making copies.

The first preventative measure is encryption. Most DVD titles are encrypted, which prevents you from either copying them to your hard drive, or if you manage to do so, being able to play the resulting files. DVD Shrink overcomes this problem with built-in decryption algorithms.

The next problem is not so easy. Most DVD video titles are simply too large to fit, without modification, onto a single recordable DVD-R disk. DVD Shrink overcomes this problem by modifying or "shrinking" the data from your original DVD.

DVD Shrink provides two ways of shrinking your DVD disk. These are re-authoring and re-encoding. You can use one, or the other, or for maximum "shrinkage", both combined.

Last but not least, why use DVD Shrink? Because DVD Shrink is FREE

cgsuperma,
If you look closely at the information when you chose your otions, you will see that shrink will not burn a disk, bnut it will send the burned file to a program like Nero, which WILL burn the disk. Look carefully, all this information is there. They probably do this for some sort of legal reasons. Shrink encodes/shrinks the file, something else burns it. Shrink is NOT a burning program. I dont know arniebear, and I dont think arniebear needs me to defend him, but you own him an apology. You asked a question and got a clear, accurate response, and you got pissy. I have found everyone here to be very helpful when they can be, so just chill and be nice about stuff.

Before you get annoyed at me too, try unloading whatever burning software you have (probably Nero, but whatever you have on your hard drive) and try using shrink again...bet you a case of DVDs it doesnt work.

I believe he is right and I am sorry, I still cant figure out what is burning because I do not have anything on my comp except for AnyDVD and shrink, That is the only reason why I did not believe him, still cant figure out what it burns with and why it does but it does and that is all that matters, so is there a program that will burn disc shrink without saving to hardrive, also today my AnyDVD trial ended yet I just put in a encrypted dvd and it said not encrypted in shrink, b ut AnyDVD wont even come up it sais expired order or exit. Why did it still take away encryption, has this ever happened for someone else.

and aabbccdd I am not going anywhere. I have the right to ask for someone elses oppinion if I want, I asked politely then when he would not stop replying I then got an additude. What you did not see is that I asked on several threads and he replied to every one with a different I'm right and your wrong. Either way I am a Marine Veteran that fought in the Iraq war. I will be damned if you aabbccdd thinks you are going to take any of my rights or oppinions, I asked politely to let me get a second oppinion and he did not respect my wishes. I don't have to and won't fly for that from anyone and I am sure if you had any self respect you would not either. I can admitt when I was wrong and arnie bear I am sorry, youd the man and hopefully if I need help sometime aggain you will help and I will listen, anyone else that wants in my business in a negative way, meaning on one of the other threads someone came at me like aabbccdd. and then someone else came at me with respect and corrected me by showing me what to look up in shrink to see I was wrong, if you are not in my business then don't but in with disrespect I would not to you, so in the mean time aabbccdd shove it.

I don't care who you are or what you've done in life - if I EVER see you disrespect a forum user again you'll be banned in a heartbeat.

You don't own or run this site so as long as the comments are respectful anyone and everyone has the right to answer so deal with it.
