The 1.4.1 version is very good and nearly foolproof. Have had no problems with it at all.

DVDxcopy is very cool indeed. If you go to the dvdxcopy forums you will find out more about it http://dvdxcopy.afterdawn.com/forum_view.cfm/52

I think most of the problems people have with it are to do with computer settings and media types. I heard somewhere that someone had got into the code and made a version that could read files from your hard drive that had been "thined" by programs such as DVD Decrypter in order to get them onto one DVD 5 disk....then again i heard that from someone who said DVD squeeze was one of the best programs out there LOL

dvd xcopy is a great program. i have had to burn the ol fashion way on a couple of movies that wouldn't burn with xcopy. But for the most part one-clickin' xcopy is the best program out there.

I have to agree DVDXcopy worked great. I used it for a DVD-9 and it asked if I wanted all the trailers etc. on second disk. I said yes burned main movie on first and canceled program when asked for second disk. All's well with backup. Have also used DVD Decrypter and DVD2ONE. Also excellant results. You can't recopy a copy with DVDXCopy though.

DVD xcopy is an excellent piece of software. I've been using since Nov02 had very few probs. There is a new version being released in March "dvd xcopy platinum" which has added functionality so it might be worth hanging onto your cash until its released.

Yes, its good for newbies. Hate those annoying warnings. Why couldn't they place the warnings at the end of the movie or so?

Does any knows how can you take tthe anoying warning sign off ?
Maybe if you rip it with dvdxcopy and then rip the copy just created leaving the warning file off?
So far I like DVDXCopy.

I admit dvdxcopy is great, because its user-friendly, why spent nearly $100. when you can get a freeware free and does the same functions as dvdxcopy without those logos and warnings. It takes wasted space viewing the logos and warnings? Whereas, it could be used on the movie. Perhaps then a movie which requires a dvd to be splitted into 2 dvds, one could fitted into one dvd, by removing those extras.

How to re-copy a DVD disc that's already been copied by DVD X COPY:

Programs needed:
DVD X COPY
DVD Decrypter
NERO BURNING ROM (latest version)

1: Put the disc that has just been copied using DVD X COPY into your DVD drive.
2: Open DVD Decrypter and select file mode. Select all the files from the DVD and put them into a folder on your desktop called VIDEO_TS.
3: When it has finished, use NERO BURNING ROM to burn the disc to DVDR.

Hope this helps you with this prob.

P.S. Do not ask me where you can get NERO BURNING ROM, DVD X COPY or DVD Decrypter!

Veritas RecordNow came with the HP300i DVDR+ combo I just purchased. I have tried to make back ups of my store bought DVDs and never succeded. When using my DVD-rom as the source it always gives me a message that the disc is dirty and I need to clean it. When using the 300i it won't continue giving me a message of a DLA problem. I am new to making backups of DVDs. I have everyone of my music CDs stored and only use a backup copy. With 3 kids and multiple units I want to protect my DVD collection from damage also. I have been looking at other programs and see that there seems to be some drawback to them all. Can I get the Veritas RecordNow to do what I want? Is there another program I need to look at? DVDXCOPY? I have several hundred music CDs that are backuped and stored. My DVD collection is growing. Can you help with info that I can use to protect & store my original DVDs as well. I am lost at this point. Isn't anything cut and dry anymore? Thanks for your input.

Your using the wrong software, CaptCosmo, use eitehr PrimoDVD or the latest Nero Buring Rom. They work with any Writers!

Hope this helps!

P.S. Another of your proplems might be that the DVD is too big to copy. But, if you buy a product called DVD X COPY, which will split the whole DVD disc to two seperate DVD discs, you may be able to copy them.

Allstairs u might as well save $99 and rip with smartripper, use vobrator, and ifoedit, and burn using your favorite burning software instead of going thru all those steps to get rid of the annoying title screen.

If you want you can edit the text of the Warning message to what ever you want in the "archive.txt" file in the 321studios directory where it installed. Then it can have your name, or what ever you change it to, show up on every DVD you duplicate.
