iPod Hi-Fi High-Fidelity Speaker System for iPod

Yesterday's big announcement from Apple? A premium iPod speaker system called iPod Hi-Fi ($349), a white box with rounded corners and a removable black fabric front grille. Inside the grille are three very large drivers - two 80mm mid-range speakers and one 130mm central bass speaker (a dual voice coil woofer), flanked by an Infrared sensor and a small light to indicate status. The light shines through the grille when you control the system from a distance with an Apple Remote, which is included in the box.

Here's a picture of it..

that is just way to expensivve for a system like that...you could buy a really nice shelf system for 100 bucks less than that adn buy a 15 dollar cable and play ur music through that system...just seems like a waste of money to me...

yeah, seems like a waste, but if it is meant only for the ipod, it probably sounds awesome. plus, having everything match (like every thing apple) makes it even better, lol

iTunes2Web 1.0 announced
SlipperySoft announced version 1.0 of iTunes2web. iTunes2web exports an iTunes music library into a web page. The software features the ability to export album art, can link albums to Google, Amazon, or the iTMS, and offers an efficient AJAX backend that minimizes the bandwidth needed to view created libraries. The developer says the stylesheets are easily modifiable, allowing experienced users to customize the appearance of web pages. The program also allows users to restrict the export of files--users can select the entire library, or individually select playlists, albums, and songs to export onto the web page. iTunes2web is shareware and costs $12.50.

iTunes Update... 6.0.4

Apple yesterday released iTunes 6.0.4, which ?addresses stability and performance issues related to Front Row,? according to the brief release notes. Front Row is Apple?s Mac-only home media software that offers a slick interface for listening to music, viewing photos and watching videos.

Did you guys see the Ipod case? It's a freaking $100 for a nano case. You can buy a shuffle with that. All the stuff that apple makes is overpriced.

Of course it is - it always has been. Why? Because people will pay it. Simple as that. None of their products are the best in their respective categories. Apple use a combination of good advertising & stylish products to ensure good sales

If people didn't buy so much than they would have to put the price down. But seriouly who would pay $100 buck for a case.

Video iPod with 4 Inch Screen? iTunes Movies?

ThinkSecret maintains that a true video iPod is in the works and claims to have further details on the upcoming device.

Contrary to their previous report on a Touch-screen Video iPod, ThinkSecret now reports that the upcoming Video iPod will sport a 4" screen with a 1/4" border and retain similar dimensions as previous iPods. Reportedly, the 4" design has been settled on over the previously mentioned 3.5" design.

The true Video iPod is expected to debut as early as March/April alongside a new movie download service from Apple. Despite recent efforts by Apple to offer feature-film downloads, ThinkSecret states that there are a number of obstacles remaining. Most notably is Steve Jobs desire to keep the pay-to-own model consistent with Movie downloads. The movie industry, however, is firmly settled on a subscription-based model.

Finally, the rumor site reveals that the Movie Download Survey speculated to come from Apple, was instead commissioned by Starz Entertainment Group and sent to current Vongo customers.

how would they solve the problem with the smudges the screen would have..wouldn't it require them to add a thicker more protective screen layer??? Also how would that affect the battery life, it drains quick enough watchin any video on the 5g i cant imagine being able to watch a full screen video on one battery.

Apple iTunes to sell monthly subscription to shows

Apple Computer Inc.'s iTunes music and video store on Wednesday took its first step toward a monthly subscription model with a new service called Multi-Pass that lets users buy TV shows on a monthly basis.

iTunes is launching the service in partnership with Viacom Inc.'sComedy Central Network, which is rolling out "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" and "The Colbert Report" on the service. Fans will be able to buy the next month's series of 16 new episodes via Multi-Pass for $9.99, or to pay $1.99 per episode. Four episodes air each week and viewers can download each episode after it's been broadcast.

TV shows and other video have been available for sale on iTunes since late last year. Comedy Central announced a relationship with iTunes six weeks ago with shows including "South Park," "Drawn Together" and "Comedy Central Stand-Up."

Michele Ganeless, executive vice president at Comedy Central, said there would be no advertising on the service for the time being, similar to the network's DVD business.

Apple has so far resisted calls from media companies and competitors to adopt a monthly subscription fee favored by the likes of Napster and Real Networks Inc.'s Rhapsody, preferring an a la carte download model where music tracks cost 99 cents and videos $1.99.

Videos downloaded from the iTunes Music Store can be played back on a personal computer or an Apple iPod portable media player, among other devices. More than 8 million videos have been sold since it launched at the end of last year.

Shows including ABC's "Desperate Housewives" and "Lost" were among the first to be made available on the service.

iPod PacMan Now Playable on iPod Videos?

The iPodMame project has made it possible for iPod owners to play Pac-Man on their iPod nano or iPod video media players. A subset of the iPodLinux project, iPodMame is trying to bring the MAME game emulator to iPods, enabling users to play classic games on the gadgets. The emulator can currently run Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man on the iPod nano, as well as fifth-generation iPods. Additional games to be supported by MAME include Pengo and Joust, according to Engadget. In early November of 2005, iDoom 1.1 was confirmed to support the iPod nano, allowing Nano owners to play the classic Doom game in full color.
