Quote: Lethal--
Is it your own theme that you created?
[edit] I finally figured it out. Its an awesome theme, Lethal! I'll probably keep this one for awhile now. Thanx soooo much for your help!
No, I didn't create any of the themes. I just mixed and matched other people's themes, and implemented the 'Freshbot' writing style. I am currently working on an AfterDawn Theme, and an Xtreme-Source theme, and both are looking good so far.
Ok, I'm gonna answer both of these questions in one hit..

Quote: I was also wondering if there was a way to simply change the battery icon in that theme to the percentage icon, or is it too complicated? thanks again!

Quote: Lethal, would you be able to host the actual theme? It will let us make any minor modifications we'd like to make to it, such as changing the font, or possibly an image or two.
All you have to do is load the firmware in iPodWizard, and for themes, click 'Save All' instead of 'Load All' and choose a directory on your HDD, and the images from that updater will be saved in that selected place. There, you can edit the images with Paint/Photoshop/Fireworks/Whatever. Once you are done, click 'Load all' again and then write the theme to your firmware.
As for fonts, same applies. Just load the firmware in iPW and you can continue modding them as shown in the second tutorial..
You guys will get there eventually. Ask as many questions as you need until then..
-Super Mario Theme will be uploaded in about 15 minutes-

Very nice theme Lethal :) And yes, I'll understand all the fine workings of iPod Wizard eventually. But I'll probably still bug you from time to time ;)

Is this all worth it???
I mean it all seems complicated and can void ur apple warranty.... You have to restore (unless u use iHack) just for a different theme????

Yes you can. Click 'Downgrade Firmware' then you can simply update. I am used to using iHack -- both are just as easy.
Quote: I believe the downgrade feature in iPodWizard downgrades the version of firmware your modifying, not the actual iPod.
Nein, my friend. In fact, the downgrade feature in iPW and iHack do the exact same job. With both, all you have to do is select the drive & click download, so it's down to preference and what you are used to.

Lethal--
Is there a way that I could get the Red Tribal theme or the theme that you hosted onto a Nano? I want to do it for a couple friends of mine, and they have no clue about iPods. Thanks!

It is possible, but not really worth it. It would involve you manually cropping & resizing each image & virtually reconstructing the theme. You are best off downloading a different, pre-made nano theme here..

Enjoy!

Thanks to Lethal I've got a very nice theme - I touched it up with the Super Mario font though.

Hehe, success!
Nice to see people getting good themes up on their iPods, and may I say, darkjello, the theme with the actual Mario text looks fantastic!

It's just a tiny bit to big so the top gets cut off a little bit. But I find it more legible that way. It's size 14 so I might try 13.5 sometime later on if I get around to it. I like it though :)
PS - The images are a little large, but I have no idea how to resize them. Anyone care to enlighten me?

That Mario theme is awesome! Especially with the font, that puts the icing on the cake. The best Super Mario was the one for Super Nintendo.
Back on task:
Lethal- I was wondering if you could write the Red Tribal theme onto a 1.0 firmware and post the download in here. If not, no biggie, but if you can, that would be awesome.
I just can't seem to get it with this dumb @ss computer, not blaming the computer, but it's just been having sooo many problems lately.
Thank You!

Re:
<3> Load the iPod Updater that your just downloaded. I recommend v1.0 (2005-11-17), but it should work with any other Updater.
Lethal: Am I to assume that i have to reload the software. Or can I skip this step as I've already rolled back to 1.0

If you are trying to update your firmware with v1.0 and that is the firmware you have on your iPod, you will either have to downgrade the firmware with iHack, so you can just click update [much faster] or you can click restore. If your modified firmware is past v1.0 then you can just click update. [if the update option is avalible for you to click then you can use it]

Feelflows - regardless of which firmware version you are running, you still have to load it in order for it to be modified. So even if you have downgraded to v1.0, you still have to load the v1.0 Updater in order to mod it & apply the changes to your iPod.

No it wont. If you Click the "Downgrade Firmware" button with your iPod docked, then you can simply "Update" your iPod using the Updater afterwards, which will apply the changes without disrupting any of your data.
