Here's an Ugly.
Don't know what happened, suspect the computer couldn't keep up with the drive. First time burning this media on this drive (that I know of).
This was a new Verb+R DL burned @2.4x on a Benq DW1655
Won't be doing a re-burn of this mpeg on this media.
Will have to wait for the burn of the 2nd half of the mpeg on the next disk.

That Lite-on burner is awesome, I believe it was my second, but alas I use a BenQ now. Here are some more recent scans.
MIT(Sony 16x) burned at max speed
MIJ(Sony 8x) burned at 8x

Hello All , Has anyone with the Liteon LH-18A1P with the GLOG firmware had any problems with Taiyo Yuden DVD+R's ? I cannot get them to work or do a complete burn at any speed. I tried using Nero /Shrink and CloneDVD2 / AnyDVD and it spits it out. Thats only since that GLOG firmware update. Just curious if anyone else has the same problem?? /Unjust P.S. these are with the Sony MIJ 8x DVD+r's from about three different 50 packs, i wasted at least 10 of these disks, but I pop in a verb 16x DVD+R and everything is just fine!

Unjust you and cincyrob need to hook up cause he had the same problem with not one but 3 different LH-18A1P's. He never got his to burn to them, but he does have another drive that burns them just fine. :)
Scan on the LH-18A1P recorded with the Pioneer DVR-112L.

i have that drive and as greensman said i have had 3 of them and cant get them to burn to the 8x+r tys or just about any other 8x+r media, but mostly the TY's i downloaded smartburn for theliteon's and that seems to work pretty good. it will waist one first but then i can burn to them after that first one it waist... ive been burning the 16x+r verbs on it like they are gold.. i have gotten more 98 qs than any other.. it loves the 16x media i just burn my 8x media on my shw-160p6s liteon. but i did waist about 30 8x+r tys before i realized that drive dont like the 8x media...
ive had all 3 different fw's for this drive and have had the same problem. glob gloc and glog all did the same thing for me. but i am haven better results with the GLOG... there is another update to the GLOG deals with fastburn and such.. greensman has this if i remember correct... back at ya sausage boy...lol

if anyone knows where i can pickup a Lite-On SHW-160P65 let me know. mines apparently almost shot i can't use it to burn on the fly with Nero and have a few other problems with it

Hi All,
Hmmmm, I'm having problems burning -R 8x Verbs (2 flavors) on my LH20A1H Litey. Wonder if it might be a similar issue.
Here's the best scan of 3 disks:
The other 2 scored as 0s. One had a massive peak @ about 2gig, the other "climbed the mountain" @4.3 gig.
Here's my latest TY burn:

Here's an interesting thing. These scans are of the same disk, scanned within 1 hour of each other. The disk had been burned the day before on a Liteon LH 20A1H.
Here's the scan on the Liteon:

I expected some difference, but this much???? Could my Liteon be dying (already?, its about 4 months old).
Haven't played the disk yet (I know, the ultimate quality test), will do so this evening.

your drive isnt dieing. you will get big time difference in the benq and liteon drive. they are different drive that read the disc differntly you cant really compare the 2 drives scans to each other it wouldnt be fair plus the 20x liteon you have if i remember correct its not that good of a scanner. you could do 5 scans of the same disc and i promise you, you will get 5 different scans/scores..

just got the 30th ann of ROOTS. 3 disc with a bonuse disc. the 3 disc are double sided. so in all it took 6 disc to back up the entire set... i got allmost the exact score on all 6 disc with the exception of 1 disc the 4th one all of these i burnt on some 8x+r sony's (MIT) these burnt really good.. suprised me alot. a good friend gave me this disc pretty good stuff.. real good playback also..
also did Epic Movie on a 16x+r verb printable...just love these verbs..lol

thanks guys , yeah Rob greensman and i hooked up and his sending me a drive monday ,I'm getting his BenQ DW-1650 i need it mainly for a ripper so i didn't want to spend 100.00 dollars on another Plextor

yea greensman does tend to have the things a guy needs at the right time..
i have the shw-160P6S and the LH-18A1P they both rip like a champ. lately i have been useing the 16x liteon to do most the ripping and burn with ym 18x when useing 16x verbs im getting damn near perfect burns with this combo..

home made movie here. its 5 video clips converted to vob_ts then used DVD Shrink to combine all 5 clips. used a 16x+r sony (mit) to burn too. pretty wild disc here.
