Great thread. I didn't realise everyone was having the same problem as my order seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth!
Any chance of finding out about Transaction ID: 282874781? Order placed on 28 November and already too late for my Nephew's Christmas present!!

hi just to put every 1's mind at rest,
model gadget have had so many orders this year probly 3 times more than last year, as more people have ds consoles and this took them by surprise,
IMO they wern't prepared for the ammount of orders and were hoping to get all the orders out by xmas, but as they recieved so many emails it crashed the server that deals with the dispatches (which is probly a seperate server to the one taking orders) which in turn left them with quite a mess and mike having a lot of work to do,
as they aren't taking any orders till 20th jan, this will be so they can clear the back log and hopefully everyone gets their order by then, just have faith and mike will sort your order guarenteed, as i have ordered many of times but didn't leave it till the last minute to get mine,
also royal mail were part of the problem as it was takin them 3 or 4 days to deliver next day special deliveries, now the festive period is over deliveries will be quicker and believe me once your items arrive you wont be dissapointed and will be glad you just waited it out,
just give it till the 20th and i'm pretty sure your items will be here, all the best for 2008 !!!

Hi there, thanks for the update....
In what way are you affiliated to Mike? And why hasn't this information come from Mike himself instead of a third-party.
Also, if your not connected to Mike, what worth is the guarantee that you have given in your post.

Thats like rubbing salt into a wound.. there are people on here who ordered in November who are still awaiting updates, and I placed my order on the 9th December hardly last minute..
Sorry if this comes across as arsey, but trying to contact Mike is like trying to get blood from a stone.
This whole sorry affair could have been defused with a few posts from the man himself, instead of messages to contact him via email that never gets a reply...
PS; no reply as yet to the mail sent on the 30th to the hotmail account on the site (modelgadget@hotmail.co.uk)

Totally agree with you Flippy. All I want is one personal email saying everything will be okay and a general update every couple of days in this forum detailing where he is through the backlog.
Can't be bothered to check now, but I'm sure it was early mid December since we last heard from him on here.

Like I said before, Worldpay have advised that:
"I have forwarded your email to our compliance department as there is currently an investigation into this company. If our customers do not comply with our terms and conditions they we reserve the right to cancel their service.
To obtain your refund I would advise contacting your card issuing bank to start the chargeback dispute."
This crook is never going to fulfil the orders placed - no point peeps sticking up for him, he should not have committed to supply and taken our money.
Out of interest - my friend got exactly the same goods from http://www.aria.co.uk with no hassle at all he's laughing at me now for being a muppet and using model-gadget!!!

Order taken 10th December and email confirming order recieved so dont fall for the "email server crash" excuse. Its BULL.
Despatched email recieved 18th December. Now 3rd Jan. So were is it ?
I suppose his next excuse will be LOST IN THE POST?
Emails sent to ALL of his email accounts and txt messages left on his phone. NO response. Has he an excuse for that one? Maybe his phone service provider's equipment was faulty?
Postage charge was for NEXT DAY. An offer to treat was accepted by completing the contract. So I want my postage back even if he does send the goods. Oh and I WILL issue in small claims against his company if I dont get it. I would suggest everybody else does the same.
The top and bottom of it is he was greedy. Even though he knew he couldnt complete the orders he still wanted the money, and took it.
Ive no doubt he will try to honor the orders but there is a real chance some of you (me included) will never see our orders or money because once a limited company trades stock it doesnt have it breaches the ltd companies act and that useualy ends in forced liquidation.
Dont fall for the bull people, Christmas is TWO day's and the world does not stop turning for it.
I got post on christmas eve and i got post the day after boxing day.
Maybe GOD is to blame ?

Last post from Mike, username ModGadget, was 17th December 2007 @ 17:16.
I think an official update, and not some excuse, is way overdue.

Guys, I'm Mike from Model-Gadget.com.
I can reassure you that all of your order will be ship out in a time slot of maximum 7 working days. however if you do not receive your order after 7 working days, please feel free to contact my personal number on 07979648571 with your order number handy.
This reassurance was as hollow as the void that my cash vanished into 20 seconds after I placed the order...
I've decided to try a new tact.. I've emailed the info mail address regarding one of the products, just to see how quickly this guy responds to sales enquiries. If I get a reply in a day or so, I'll know that there is life at Model Gadget, he just isn't interested in fulfilling outstanding transactions.
BTW, the mobile number above has been switched off for 2 weeks now..
PS, still no reply to the mail I sent on the 30th December 2007 advising on him being in breach of Distance Selling Regulations.

Ok,...
I have really had enough with this guy....
I thnk its time to take some action of our own....
I found out this guy runs an ebay store....
http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/modelgadget/
A post on 3rd January says "Super Fast Delivery. A++++++ Ebayer. Will buy from again"
So he must still be doing business from ebay. Why isnt this guy shut down yet? Can he get away with it? This guy has now basically stolen £50 from me. I have seen nothing and I am EXTREMELY ANGRY.
Let's get together....maybe we can get him bad ebay reviews or something. Even contact ebay to make them aware to cancel his account or something. We have to do SOMETHING.
Any suggestions?
Regards

I have just been emailed a video clip of 2 guys knocking on Model-Gadgets front door.
It was interesting to see how shy they were.

Any chance you can YouTube the vid or something, then post a link to it here, as I'm guessing there are alot of posters that would like a look at it.

Here is the email i received with the video clip.
After a thorough investigation into the internet company known as Model-Gadget, i can confirm that they are indeed based at 2a river way Epsom/Ewell, surrey KT19 0HH.
In my opinion Mike is the runner / translator of the business, who does all of the postage runs in a light Blue people carrier.
Any legal documents are related to a Mr CHAIRUDDIN CHAN and wife NGUYEN T CHAN.
I have numerous videos of the comings and goings from this company either at the house or from their local post office which will be passed on to the authorities involved.
I am in the process of loading the video clip on to the internet for the general public, and will inform you of the associated site within a few days.

I'm going to cancel my order with Model Gadget and start the process of getting my money back from my credit card company (also informing WorldPay).
Could someone recommend an alternate supplier? So far I've found Aria and ConsoleUp. Aria seem quite pricey, but I've used them before, and ConsoleUp only seem to have the M3DS Real in stock (is there much difference from the M3DS Simply?).
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks.

Have you the link?
Or pm it to me, would like to see it, couldn't find anything my self.
To the other person md3 does exactly same thing, I was one of lucky ones who for some reason got a refund and went elsewhere and bought one.

@sheppio
i can recommend addictsupplies.com ( uk website ), but at the moment they dont have the r4ds or m3ds real in stock though ( will do soon hopefully )
they have a stock counter for each product they sell , so you know they are in stock before you buy !
i have bought from them about 5 time now and have been impressed with the quick delivery ( royal mail first class 2 - 3 days ).
i can well recommend them once they get some r4ds and m3ds real back in stock .

Common Sense obviously isn't the order of the day; Let's have no more personal/financial information posted in here. Some of you fail to realise just how public this site is/in fact how public this very thread is.. If the company you're all complaining about is indeed a scam outfit, imagine how many other work-shy fraudsters there are out there who'd love some personal info for free.

Same boat as most of us then..
I'd suggest waiting till 30 days after the order was placed, then ask your card issuer to claim the money back, contact WorldPay to advise them you are doing this, and go elsewhere.
After a month of chasing the order and getting no reply from Mike at Model Gadget, all the goodwill that was built up in the last year I've had trading with him is now exhusted.
Such a shame, as a little communication would have gone a long long way....

I have not yet received my order for 3 r4ds's, and 3 2GB cards. People who ordered after me, have received their orders, which i cant get my head round. But anyhow... my order number is: 24344
I placed the order on 8th december, and the status went to "despatched" on 18th. Yet i have still received nothing.
If you come back to this thread mick, sorting me out would be appreciated thanks!... My mum and 2 sisters are gettin restless.. and its annoying.
Cheers!
