Thanks senzafine,
lots of other games work perfectly on the same type of discs. I'll follow your advice and give Verbatim discs a try.
Thanks a lot.

Hi,

I have a Mod Japanese WII with 3.2 firmware. I want to install Wiigator Launcher, my question is: Do I need Original Japanese Twilight Hack game to do it? Is US version going to works. Thanks.

First off, thanks for the excellent tutorial. I'm having a problem getting backups on my 3.3u Wii to play so here's how everything went:

1. Installed homebrew channel.

2. Loaded homebrew channel and went into "WAD Installer".
- In evnflow's instructions it said "install CIOS36_rev5-64- v1042" but all I saw was a CIOS.wad file and installed that

3. Went into Homebrew, then Wad Installer, then installed Wiigator_Backup_Launcher_V3_Beta.dol.wad.

I managed to get everything installed (new Backup Launcher channel created) but when I try to load a backup it gives me a strange error that I can't read because it looks like 2 or 3 error messages overlapping each other. I try to load it several times with the default settings and get the same thing. The backup I'm trying to load is a Japanese import so I try setting the boot language to Japanese and forcing NTSC but I still get the same error.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

That is the wrong cios and firmware. You need to be on 3.4U and cios v7.

Hi guys, just a quick question. Ive installed the zelda hack, formatted my sd card, got the homebrew channels etc and pretty much everything that was on the original tutorial but where im stumbling is the patching process. Ive downloaded Deal or no Deal and got a rar file while i extracted into an iso file however i cant seem to get the file into the backup creator. I keep gettin a message saying that it couldnt get partition title key. Any pointers would be grateful and im hoping its something straight forward. Cheers in advance

This is an older guide that uses an older boot loader and cIOS. The newer WiiGator Gamma version plays unpatched games (1:1 copies) and has a better compatibility game rate.

I have created an updated guide in the ultimate sticky thread. So if you want to use the newest boot loader and cIOS check it out.

Zelda is only required once ever. You simply run the program to run your back, easy as pie.

I'm pretty sure you can reinstall it. Did you use the wad manager to uninstall everything? How did you uninstall it? Did you install cios v7 using the installer?

I have everything installed & working with the gamma but wanted to use this as a Wii channel...I got the 1 from the start of this thread but it says it is the beta.wad.

How can I get this installed as a channel?

TIA

Hello Guys

I have Formated my SD Fat32 i have the boot file in my SD
i have 2 folders and one file
File1 is = boot.dol
Folder 1 is = Private
Folder 2 is = Privat

I didnt bought the Zilda game yet ( original )
so i was wondering if i can run the boot file in my Wii and install homebrew first and later when i get the game to run the hack

is this going to work of i am not going to break my WII ?

Thank you

You need the Twilight Princess hack to run the boot.dol file. After you have installed the Homebrew Channel (via the boot.dol file) you can then use that to boot other boot.dol files. But you need the Twilight Hack to run the boot.dol file for the HBC.

It installs the Homebrew Channel to the Wii system menu. Then you can boot other applications via that rather then using Twilight Princess hack to do it all the time.

Follow the guide. Nothing worse then someone making multiple post asking questions that are clearly stated in the guide if you just read it.
