Hey people. I just got a wii for my daughter for christmas based on this soft mod to play backups. I've been having a problem installing the latest Cios 36 V7. all the installers ive been able to find give me an error message -116. Plus I haven't been able to find one that has V7. Can some one give me a hand with this maybe a link with a wad file.

One quick question and I'm on my way to install twilight hack :)
The game cd Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is it supposed to be a "wii game cd" or "Gamecube CD" or both works ?

Same here. Can you help me? I installed the newest firmware and not my wii fit game is scratched. Do I need to downgrade? How do I get different firmware?

If you have the Oct 23rd 3.3 or 3.4 firmware update then yes you will need to go HERE and follow these instructions to install the cIOS. You don't have to downgrade if you don't want but you will need to perform the first 3 steps in the guide to get WAD/cIOS instillation enabled again.
I guess this is what I need to do. It says google it. Where is the wad folder? I take it I put the whole zip into this wad folder?

i am having a problem installing cIOS_FIX.wad Anyone know how i can get it to install? I have version 3.4u and need the fix to play backups. Any help would be appreciated.

You should unzip the file to your pc and then open your sd card. you should have a WAD folder in the root and you will need to drag and drop te filed to that folder.

I would suggest downgrading to 3.2. I myself am having major problems doing this. I too have v3.4u and cannot get the fix to install.

I would suggest downgrading to 3.2. I myself am having major problems doing this. I too have v3.4u and cannot get the fix to install.
I got everything installed successfully. Homebrew is now running and I install the cios with no errors. Homebrew runs with no problems on 3.4U. Now I have to buy one of the LG burners to be able to rip the games? Boot loader will run all games? or most? I also got prompted for homebrew beta 9 update. Is this safe?

Hey guys, Just wanted to say thanks for the great guide.
Got everything up and running without any problems.
However,
My girlfriend asked about playing online with her dad and sister.
I've got a wireless network and enabled it to install the cios but then disabled it afterward.
I'm thinking she won't be able to play with them online with games like Mario Kart etc. without having to update to the latest/greatest and making the hack not work right?
The current fw on the system is 3.1U.
I would like to know if there is a way to play online without updating the fw and making sure that any kids don't do it by accident?

I can't seem to find the IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad file. In the wii-tools.zip it's either called something else or isn't there. Where do I get this file? I am on 3.4U

Okay, I guess I've had the file zip but all I see is wii gator and two others. This file isn't in the list. Please help.

I have Wii Manger v3.wad, cios_fix.wad, and wii gator.wad, where is this file I need? All these error.

I am. That's what I run into. I have to get wii backup disc and use wii scrambler right? Or is this file a direct download somewhere? I have googled and googled. Apparently I am blind.

Promise I'll leave you alone after this, but can I turn off the updates somehow? I use the wi-fi, but don't want the kids to accidently update the firmware on the next release.

Please! I need help verifying if I did everything correctly.
I have 3.4u and followed Radioshadow's tutorial correctly up to step 4, allowing me to install wads and run homebrew.
I've successfully installed cIOS_fix.wad and IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad.
I now have backup launcher as a channel. both gamma and beta.
I couldn't install cIOS installer because I don't have wifi, but I did download the files and saved it to SD card. (the 0000001 folder)sadly I get errors installing it that way too.
I do have a cIOS.wad which I installed successfully thourgh wad manager.
Is that enough for me to run backup games?
When I run a backup game I get through the launcher I either get a DVD324 error or the other error message that's so garbled I can't read it. I heard this is more of a burn media issue than anything else. Is this true?
But when I insert an original game (Zelda) and run it through the launcher it works! The launcher loads it.
What does this mean? Is my backup launcher already working? If I load a backup with a better CD (Verbatim DVD-R) will it work?
Please help! And thanks in advance.

Hi, I have a question.
I've been using the Gamma version for a while and it works.
Although, some of the games that I get from the internet do not work, even if they should work (according to that compatibility list.
Some of them show a green page upon loading and I have to restart the Wii. Some others stop working in the middle of something (for example: in the second video of Super Mario Galaxy, and in the loading of the Track game in Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games).
What can be the reason?
The source of DVD? or my burning?

Gamma can be touchy about what types of disc you use, my advice is to invest in some vertibatim or RiTek discs and burn at nothin above 4x speed. I have both of those games and both work perfectly for me.
