@theonejrs,
Ran prime95 last night for just over 4 hours with no problems,thats good enough for me!
Not finished yet!!
New benches at 2.75GHZ.
CPU voltage @1.504v(bit higher than stock!)
Memory voltage @2.7v(.1v over stock)
Check the cpu temp(fan 3 on the chart)stock cooling.
Maybe with an aftermarket cooler my cpu will turn into an iceblock!!LOL.
I will get a thermometer to put in this room today so I know exactly the ambient room temp.
@sammorris,I noticed that the images arent perfectly clear?
I use image shack and resize for message boards.Maybe I am missing something?

theonejrs obviously you live in the us as global warming is not a problem for george bush(he chooses to ignore it) in the uk where we are sensible we have problems statng what climate change can do and are trying to find more eco friendly alterntaives unlike u americans with your big cars and your feeling that you are better than everybody else (and dont deny it!)

We're british, we have um.... big cars (including a GMC in fact). Two other cars use Rover V8 engines, that stem from Buicks. Leave an american-slate out of this. If you fancy a laugh, feed the american and win an ipod. You'll see the popup soon enough.

@sammorris,
Those were the timings I had when I first booted at 2.75GHZ.
So tightened the timings a bit to see how it would go.No problem.
I will keep going with the current timings and when I hit a pot hole,
try loosening the timings a bit.

PeterG969,
You just picked up a week suspension for your off topic and abusive posts. I suggest taking that time to adjust the attitude.
If you rejoin before your suspension is over both your new and old accounts will be permanently deactivated.

How did you break a 3700+? It sounds to me like you messed it up and it doesn't boot ever, so you just need a reset. I can't believe you managed to break a CPU just by overclocking it. Welcome back, but keep your murderous anger in the safety valve next time eh? You're not one to talk about not knowing about computers if you thought you trashed your CPU because it doesn't boot after an OC.
The X1900XT is quite a major leap from the X1800XT, it's about 40% faster, and will continue getting faster, because it has 48 pixel shaders rather than the X1800XT's 16. It's more money but well worth it. Avoid the X1900XT-X but go with the X1900XT. Best GPU purchase out there atm. OC it to make it an XT-X, and you've got a 7900GTX beater for a fair bit less money.

crowy,
I discovered a new trick. Reasoning that locking the memory at 400 makes that the start point for memory speed, I locked it at 320 again reasoning that the start point would be 320 on a 200MHz fsb. I'm now running a 20% OC on the 3.2 Pressler. CPUs at 3840MHZ on a 960 fsb. Memory runs at 400MHz. I ripped a DVD yesterday and saved 8 mins. I ripped the same DVD with these settings and saved another 49 seconds!! Here's the benches. Let me know what you think!!
Cpuz
Math
Memory Bandwidth
Multi-Media
I also noticed that when I went to Image Shack to host these benches, it was much faster. 4 seconds from the click of the mouse! Also the video part of the MM test goes by much faster. Temp loaded at 100% CPU is 42C in a 22C room. I think it's done!!! It's no AMD, but it's no slouch either!

Very nice. I've been wondering, which bar graph represents your PC, and which represents the simulated bench?

The top one that says current. I also reset the memory timings to 2.5-4-4-5 which fattens up my bandwidth a little bit. So Far so good!!

Hmmm, not necessarily any indication of their supremacy... I'm sure intel make a good laptop CPU as well, even though I'm an AMD fan at heart.

But that's not their speciality is it? Intel only make poor graphics chips because they only make the budget versions for stock PCs without graphics cards. They work, don't they? For faster solutions they let ATi and nVidia use their experience. Intel is better off using their R&D efforts on stuff like Conroe and Woodcrest than making Integrated graphics faster, even if "extreme" is a bit of a joke. I think you'll find VIA and SIS' integrated chips to be even slower.

Hey, i am doing what i can, my computer rendomly shut down and would not start back up, my dad messed with it ( he took out the ream herd the beep, put in the ream and didnt hear a beep...... this is after i left the cmos battery out for about an hour and a half.. my dad i looking into it again tonight.. he blamed me because when i oced it, he said i damadged it, and then after play battlefront 2 for a long while :) it shut off and i finished it off from what he said.. i dono i am about to take the heatsink off and look at the chip.. i dono.. i am going to sack my allowance for 3 months and get a 3800 on zipzoomfly for 170.00??? and get the X1900XT.. i want to take my cpu to a friends so that i can see if it is actually fried.. i dono how to tell otherwise.. but any comments or sudjestions would be very benefitial..

Hmm, it's an understandable decision, but i'd be surprised if it's the cause. By all means try that with the CPU, it's a good test. You take the RAM out and you get no beep? I can't remember whether that's because taking the RAM out disables the BIOS from going any further or not. If it isn't, then RAM may be your problem. When my system was frying (unbeknown to me) the first thing that happened is that I got beeps and it hung at the "checking NVRAM" stage. So who knows...

Yes this is AMD vs Intel, but when people do new builds benchmarks are asked to prove their stats otherwise they could just say any baloney they want. It's still very much AMD vs Intel. There are several builds going on right now. Some dual core AMDs, some dual core Intels and some single core Intels. That's why so many benchmarks posted at this time as it's the only accepted way for someone to prove their claims.
