Here I am back again...after spending the whole weekend trying to get back up and running...I eventually got there yesterday morning...it was my atom splitting moment...Ureaka
My problem now is ...after a hour or so yesterday I dropped my pictue/video again (all bar Setanta Ireland & Euronews)...I then hooked it back up to the PC and FTPd the exact same Keylist.txt file that I had previously updated and I was back in buisness again.
All was well until this morning a whole 24hours after my last Keylist overwrite and once again lost picture/sound. Is this error common, or something unique to me.I was advised by mhill7895 a page back
You need to telnet into your box and edit the camd_cfg file.
Open a cmd window (go to Start | Run... and type cmd and press enter)
Type: telnet 192.168.1.13 (change the number to the IP of your box)
Type: cd /var/keys
Now you need to edit the camd_cfg file - I only use vi to do this and don't really fancy writing a tutorial on how vi works... The file probably says 'A: {02}' change this to 'A: {00}'
That sounds pretty daunting and desperate...I have a DB500C on a Evocamd emu. It there a alternative image that I can change to that I do the Telnet option above.
And if there is such a thing ...what is the prefered image for the DB500C....
Any feedback is appreciated...

Download camd_cfg, use an editor and upload the changed file to your box.
Restart evocamd.

Restart evocamd.
As Telnet virgin....what Editor application do you recommend....and if you could could you give me a quick how to guide on doing this....I am worried that I will make things worse by messing with these settings...so the more info I have the better before I to do this.

Hi guys,
I was also wondering if someone could PM a image for the DM500c. I have read all though the tutorials regarding FTPing my box, but unfortunately no matter what procedures I folow I cannot connect to my box. I just get the erorr message 'cannot conect to conection socket'
I've tired unsing both the coss over and the ethernet connetion. I've pinged the box; changed my LAN connections/baud rate etc. I can however connect to the DreamUp function so I can flash an image; but I'm even having difficulty connectinbg to this. Once I connect via the crossover cable, it tells me to switch on my box even though its already on?%?
I'm completely at a loss now and woudl appreciate any help anyone could give me.
thx

If the D Box goes down and the only channels you have left are RTE 2, TV3 , Channel 6 etc., don?t do a service scan, if you do you will lose most of your channels and it makes it more difficult to get them back.
NOTE: When I refer to scroll in text below, I mean using the Toggle buttons that are around the OK button on the remote control, the button below the OK you use to scroll down, the one above use to scroll up and down, the buttons to the left & right you use to move left & right. If you make a mistake and you want to go back to the start, press the home button and don?t save changes. To get started follow instructions below:
1
. Press the blue button and you will be in the features menu, scroll to Tuxbox Commander, press OK.
You should now be looking at the files on the D Box.
2
. Scroll to VAR and press ok, If you don?t see VAR, scroll to <DIR> & press ok, if you still don?t see VAR scroll to the next <DIR> and press ok, keep doing this until VAR appears on the screen!
3
. When you find the VAR file and you press OK, scroll to Keys & press OK
4
. Scroll to Keylist.txt and press 4 on your remote control! It is important that you don?t press OK when you scroll to keylist.txt , you must press 4 in order to edit the code that will appear! If you pressed OK in error , just press the Home button and start again.
5.
After pressing 4 you should be looking at a screen with /var/keys/keylist.txt at the top, 4 or 5 codes in the middle and numbers 1 to 9 at the bottom.
6.
Now you need to scroll to the code that you are going to change, e.g old code is as follows:
N S401 00 587436A3B220CB46 and we need to change it to N S401 00 587436A3B230CB46
We are only changing one digit this time, in future you may have to change more digits.
7.
When you have have scrolled to code you want to change press OK, When you press OK, the code becomes slightly larger and the first digit changes colour to red, this is now your cursor!
8
. Scroll to the digit you want to change, and then use the numbers on your remote to change that digit to whatever character you want, e.g. if you want to change the digit to 3 , you press the number 3 button four times until 3 appears, the press ok. The same would apply if you want to change it to 4, you press the number 4 button on your remote four times and press OK.
9
. When you have changed the digit to the new one, press the Home button, it will ask you do you want to save changes, if you are happy with the new change, scroll to yes and press OK.
10
. You should now have changed the code, to get back to the TV screen, press home.
11
. In order for the changes to work you need to reboot, press the D box button and scroll to reboot and press OK. When it reboots you channels should be back!
This is a good guide, the code is incorrect though they both begin with 58 and it should be 5B.
5B7436A3BA30CB46 was on my box, I changed this to 5B7436A3B230CB46
Some people might not have tuxbox commander when you press blue. On many images I sent around I turn this off to stop people messing about. Some people with blade might have found it is not there, especially if your boot up screen is Jim Carrey- (cableguy). To get the option you need to press dbox, go to services, key binding setup, or key setup. Now go to user menu blue, go down to a blank option and keep selecting until you see "plugin", now go back out of the services menu and when on normal TV press blue and do as above.

Upload both files to var/keys.
Restart evocamd or reboot your box.

Having finally managed to flash my Nokia Dbox2 with Sportster 1.10, i now need the service xml and bouquet xml for Belfast/N Ireland (i receive n*l via cable). I have search through many of these threads and managed to find a service.xml for Belfast but no Bouquet.xml . Am i right in thinking that i need to drop both the service.xml and bouquet.xml into the zapit/ directory. If i do this, will i still need to do a scan? Also do i need to find and update keylist.txt? One last question, is there any major difference between Sportster 1.10 and Commando 9. Although i dont have the belfast bouquet.xml, i have done a couple of scans using the belfast service.xml but can not get any channels. I'm just wondering if Commando 9 is a better image to use or does it just come down to personal choice. Thanks in advance for all your assistance

There was no change for Virgin.
A scan create a services.xml and if you are too lazy to create your own bouquets.xml via bouquet editor you can use a downloaded one.

You must have done a rescan or something. If you are in dublin on N*L then pm me your email and I can forward you mine. They are up to date, some channels got moved around a month or so ago. You will have to FTP them on though.
If you still have rte2 showing then it is usually keys which are wrong. If you turn on a channel and there is no epg or teletext then the frequency has probably changed. The epg was still available on all channels, so you could tell there was no need to rescan.

I think you could also change this in tuxbox using the remote and the TV screen.
I did not change the autoupdate on blade trinity final on a nokia, and not on sporster 1.7 on a sagem 1x, they had no problems for some reason, I have since changed them though. On commando 8.2 on a nokia it does seem to matter, I have put the keylist.txt on twice and it went down within an hour. Now, many thanks to mgb17, I know I have to change this setting.
I am still wondering why it did not affect the blade image. I might turn it on and see what if it is updating. I think it might have updated and kept the old key too, if the incorrect key is also in there should it still work?
In the future if autoupdate is turned off can you do a "force public key update"? would this update them? This would be helpful since I am guessing the key might come in with only 1 digit wrong again.
Also I heard a lot of people complaining about subbed boxes going down and stalling during the change. So I wonder if they consider this a success? or will they change back to the old method the next time.

If you set A: {02} in the camd_cfg the au procedure kick only in if the key is nomore valid in keylist.txt.

My Nokia Dbox2 (dublin) NtHELL has also just gone down
How do i fix?
last time this went we got a new keylist.txt if you have a look in there it contained the codes that were in other threads to fix the other boxes like starview on the same day.
I found the codes today to fix one of the other boxes (think it was starview) they are 7375C3CC596DDFFA and 067AF388D22415F5
my keylist.txt also updated today and contain these codes:
N 5401 01 7375C3CC596DDFFA ; ROM7 AU Key Time Tue Apr 8 17:52:53 2008
and
N 5401 00 067AF388D22415FD ; ROM7 AU Key Time Tue Apr 8 17:52:53 2008
so if them codes fixed the starview what do i need to do to get my dbox up and running again????
There are other lines with dated today and the same time, do i simply delete these???
