yeah,i inputted the keys manually,and i turned auto update off...

was thinking it may be best to flash the Andromeda 2 image on, the one I use, it has the fix already applied.. may be quicker and a must better image as well. What make of box do you have
hi ,i have a nokia dbox2 with sportster 1.10.
i need this image becasue its the only one that supports a hard disc dvd recorder when attached.

its all to do with the ip adress etc,the box needs to comunicate with the pc..
post all your pc adresses and dbox adresses...

your PC and DBox are on different subnet hence cant connect
change your DBox values as follows
IP 192.168.2.5
subet 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.2.1
right i have done the above and changed the network adaptor card settigs and i still cant connetc my d box settings are
dhcp - off
ip address - 192.168.1.3
netmask - 255.255.255.0
broadcast - 192.168.1.255
default gateway - 192.168.1.1
name server - 192.168.1.3
what am i doing wrong, i could cry!

Can anyone tell me?
1) I have a spare box Nokia DBox2 but it is dud, I wanted to try to get this fixed is it possible? So I have been reading the setting up a DBox2, it said when you first turn on the box if there is lots of numbers/letters on the LCD screen? Then it is in debug mode, when I turn on my spare box my LCD screen is only green with nothing at all on it no numbers/letters does that mean it is not in debug mode,is it possible to fix this? I do have time to work on this
2)As my other box is working good since I changed the codes on Friday morning fingers crossed. should I risk the permanent fixed or should I leave it!!!!
if replying please tell me which box you are telling me about 1 or 2

there is another folder named "scce" & the icon has a small black arrow on the bottom left hand corner, when i open the file up it seems to have the same contents as the folder named "keys" but the blue header bar at the top of the window says var/keys is this the folder that i drop the 3 files to? i have managed to send a picture off my pc to the box so all the connections etc are ok i just need to know exactly which file to drop the fixes into "keys" or "scce" ? please help i must be close!!!

Hey i was wondering if any one could help? i got another dbox 2 2xintel chip setup. but haveing problems flashing it. I mistakenly flashed the wrong image. it gets stuck on loading kernel. i followed the guides and read lots of past threads and still no luck
i used the ifa. an it says that i got a firewall. i have turened it all off. and i have no problem updateing me other box with diffrent files. I noticed some of the guides mentioned a xp.reg file to run(i haven't got this file i don't know where i would get it + i running windows vista. I think this is me problem. Can u help???

Hi there lads and lasses Forby69 back again still trying now connected by cable to fxp and trird all settings mentioned and when setting al 3 ip def and dns 192 168 1 3 i get a delay of 20 secs before message con failed lost. however when running test network now am getting D box reachable ping
default gateway reachable ping
dns server reachable ping
but i am still not connecting . my computer ip is 79.68.188.248
does that come into play .Someone has got to have the answer please. getting desprat Forby

thank you oggnogg i wonder if this is my problem all along when i go to control-right click net connections i dont get obtain an ip ,just "local area connections" and if i click properties on that i get local network connected, sis900 fast ethernet adapter

when ya right click on local area connections click on properitys then select TCP and right click go to properitys in there sorry my mistake you then tick (use the following ip)my mistake and add the 192.168.1.1 and box set at 1.2

OGGNOGG maybe you coulp help me here?
also when im dropping these files into the correct folder(when i find out which one it is)should the box be off ie at the mains as i did manage to send a picture to the box with it switched on & it came through ok
and hopefully my final question is do i need to reboot or rescan the box after adding the new rom files into the relevant folder

The box has to be on and Copy and replce optoin you will be asked after doing that reboot the box of full power not just a remote reboot as it doesnt always work

Certainly dont do a rescan as you will F**K up the Service & Boq that are in your image

cheers mate but how do i get "copy & replace"? & i need to know which folder to drop the files into is it KEYS or SCCE (both folders seem to contain the same files but only the SCCE file says var keys in the blue header bar at the top when i open the folder)

oh oh i did a scan at he beginning of the crash (dont suspect im the only one though) will this make a difference?
will i now need to flash a new image to my box?& would i need to flash the fixed roms onto the new image?

I have now managed to connect to the box by changing my ip tcp settings (thanks a lot for that
i have followed the instructions below but stil dont get the channels, do i need to do something after i overwrite the file?
1 get flash fxp > ftp
2 get the file > http://www.4shared.com/file/43880742/b756ed13/nagrarom7.html
and unzip it
3 plug an ethernet cable in to your computer and box.
4 go to dbox then network on your box remote.
5 go to flash fxp on your computer and pick file then quick connect.
6 type your ip address from the box and put user name as root and password as dbox2 and connect.
if it doesnt connect change your box ip and dns and default gateway the same: 192.168.000.003 and then pick start\restart network on the box.
7 once connected go to var\keys and put the file in and overwrite.
8 wait a few seconds and your box will come back on.
