I'm afraid that's your own fault then. The ID posted here works.
Tip: Keep the digits you're using for the X's fairly low. Eg: 11 0A
The best thing to do is use digits that have worked before on another game.
Out of interest, what error code did you get & what program did you use to patch dna$ with?

I wouldnt patch with those digits, since anyone reading this might also patch with the same digits. Although more than one disc can have the same ID, its best to try & be as unique as possible.
As for your error, Ive never seen or heard of an 887 or 877. Are you sure it wasnt either;
-880 or -881
-PS2 hardware incompatibility.
or
-833
-Region Error.
Since I see you're from London, I'm guessing it was more likely an 833 region error.
You do know that to play NTSC games online in a PAL territory (or vice versa), you need to change your PS2's Internal Machine ID to a PAL/NTSC Hybrid using Paradox's Machine ID Changer? Which of course you can only do if you have a v7 or below PS2, since there's no ID Changer for PS2's above that version.

I just burnt it with Nero to a CD-R. I've also just checked my CD, and its reporting the size as 497Mb on the disc. Just use Nero, and you shouldn't have a problem. Use Overburn if it won't let you burn normally.
If you've got a Memory Card inserted, then the program will autosave your current ID.
However, you won't need to change back to your original ID anyway, as you will be changing to a PAL/NTSC Hybrid ID - meaning you will be able to play on both PAL & NTSC servers without the need to change IDs again.
EDIT: If you're using Swap Magic to boot (I use SM2.0) then you may have to use CDLoader as an extra Swap or 'special boot' if you have a newer version of SM.
Also, read the nfo that came with the download, as that will most likely answer any other questions you have.

Yes, you can - with a store bought copy. But certainly not with a backup. As its the first ever DVD9 (dual-layered) game with online play, its entirely possible its not compatible with current patching technology.

i used Nero and burned the files to dvd-r but no luck.
Are you supposed to put all 3 of the files onto the disc or only the .cue and .bin files?
Please say exactly how you burned your disc. in Nero what do you burn it under? e.g. Data cd, Data DVD etc.

Use Nero Xpress (the compact, quick version of Nero - it gives you the option to switch to this mode from the full version).
Then choose to 'Burn from Image File' and point the browser towards the .cue file. Then choose burning speed.
Simple. Nero will do the rest for you. You burn it to CD-R, NOT DVD, and you certainly dont attempt to put the bin & cue files onto the disc.
Haven't you guys ever burnt a PS2 CD game or a VCD?

i changed my ps2 ID, patched mgs3 subsistence but now when going online i get
error code:
-880 - ps2 hardware incompatibilty.
Would this have anything to do with my mod-chip?

Hmm, sounds like a patch gone wrong. What version is your PS2? I heard only certain versions can change their console ID.

I tested my ps2 on a router and it works, but it still doesnt get past the dnas, mainly because my modchip doesnt support online play. Is there any other way i can play online? Using the modchip.
