Yo, i need help with some of the stuff. I have a fat psp with 3.10 OE-A and 1.50 kernel. Is it okay to update strait ahead following the instructions posted above? And if the psp becomes bricked is it possible to reach the recovery mode? or is there a way to prevent such incidents of being bricked? Help would be appreciated.. thanks

I bought a PSP on Ebay with 3.52M33-4 on it and one of the first things I did was format the memory card. Was there anything on the memory card that I needed? I ask this because I just cant figure out how to rip the umd game disk I have and I read somewhere that it is possible with 3.52M33-4. (can someone show me the steps in doing this? or, on a bigger note, show me a guide where I can figure this stuff out on my own?)
If there was something I needed on the mem card then will upgrading to 3.71 put it back on? I noticed that there are only 3 files in the upgrade: 371.pbp, umodule.prx, and eboot.pbp

Oh, i have just installed the latest 3.71 m33-2 firmware with the help of this guide. It was nicely laid out and well explained step by step. Thanks for this great guide!
I just have a quick question. Is it abosolutely necessary to install the 1.50 kernel patch? I just want to play ISO games.

you will only need the 1.50 kernel patch to play homebrew games and emulators,if you only play iso's there is no real need for it :)

Yo sicdude!
Change the title to "GUIDE FOR INSTALLING 3.52M33-4 THEN 3.7M33-3"
And re-edit the instructions.
Gotta stop those noobs from asking us on how to upgrade to M33-3 :)

I have sucessfully downgraded to 1.5 then back up to 3.52 M33-4.
I now wish to continue up to 3.71 M33-3. Problem is I do not know where to get the 3.71 OFW as the official site seems to only offer 3.72.
Could somebody point me where I might get 3.71 OFW file please?

Hi. I'm a noobie who desperatly needs some help with firmware upgrade on PSP. My current firmware is 3.10 OE-A. I've never tried a UMD on it until now, but it wouldn't run so I started looking for firmware upgrades. I've followed the instructions for upgrading to 3.52 and it all seems to be going fine, but when I check the version after the upgrade it's still 3.10 OE-A and I still cannot play the UMD. I've tried going to the configuration menu, but can only toggle between kernel 1.5 and 3.10. Any advice from you experts?
Thanks!

Hi again folks. I removed the devhooks that came with my PSP. Now the OE guide for 3.52 works perfectly. Thanks!!!

How to Install M33 Updates: (M33 Firmwares only)
ALL M33 UPDATES CONTAIN THE PREVIOUS UPDATES. (E.G. Update 4 contains update 1, 2, and 3.
* Download the update 4 here . http://www.sendspace.com/file/reyie2
* Place the update folder in the following directory; 'X:/PSP/GAME150/'
* Run the update from your XMB, under GAME > Memory Stick.
