Hi There Everyone I am new to this forum and I just finished successfully installing M33 3.52 from a PSP sys that was downgraded to firmware 1.50 using GTA by folowing "sicdude's" thread for Installing 3.52 Custom Firmware on a 1.50 PSP. The problem I am having is I got to the part for "How to Install M33 Updates: (M33 Firmwares only)" And I am not sure if I need to do this step or not ? How can I tell if my firmware is M33 is version "3.52-1, 3.52-2, 3.52-3 or 3.52-4" ?
Also, The instructions for the updates say...
* Download the update 4 here . http://www.sendspace.com/file/reyie2
* Place the update folder in the following directory; 'X:/PSP/GAME150/'
* Run the update from your XMB, under GAME > Memory Stick.
But I dont have a 'X:/PSP/GAME150/' folder on my psp mem stick I have a 'X:/PSP/GAME/' folder.

My 3.52 m33-4 psp can't find the 3.71.pbp file.
I'm getting an error: "verifying 3.71.pbp cannot open file 0x80010002"
When I open the 3.71CFW update.
I tryed a lot, changing different 3.71.pbp downloads but all don't work.
Also I followd all the instructions for upgrading.
I also had this problem when upgrading to other cfw updates, but I used psp installer deluxe to install to 3.52 m33 without any problems.
Unfortunatly I don't have windows vista so I won't be able to open the 3.71cfw easy installer.
I checked the directory of the update folder(umodule.prx / EBOOT / 3.71.PBP) also I am in 3.52 kernel mode.
Let's Go

hi
I have a 3.40 oe-a fw. When I ran the 3.52 M33 update in the game menu it read/write 1.50 ok and 3.52 ok. But my PSP is still 3.40 OE-A.
Any ideas here guys?
thanks

The link to the 3.52 OFW in the guide doesn't work for me. I keep getting the "404 Not Found". Can anyone confirm that it's working?

Hi. I am a total noob when it comes to PSP. I just bought my first PSP (Slim & Lite) and would like to make it a custom.
I have read several threads about upgrading and this one is the most simplest to understand.
My current firmware is the one that I downloaded from www.yourpsp.com, its a original firmware from Sony, 3.72.
So is it OK for me to upgrade to 3.52M33-4 by just following the steps in this thread or do I have to do another things?
Thankful for the help i can get.

Here are the valid firmwares for the PSP S&L
Officials:
3.60
3.70
3.71
3.72
Customs:
3.60M33
3.71M33(2)
So practically, the minimum firmware that the PSP slim can go is 3.60(M33)

Hey PALs...
I took the files of 3.52 M33,it's update 4,3.71 M33 and installed 3.71 M33 onto my PSP by upgrading from 3.40 OE A. Then i downloaded and installed update 2 for 3.71 M33 so noe my PSP is a "3.71 M33-2"
Have'nt checked any .iso games on it but the problem i am facing is that the homebrew softwares which all worked on 3.30 OE A are no longer working....i've tried everything,i put the files in GAME, it didnt work then i kept the files in GAME150,still it didnt work, I even tried GAME371 but still no success. I tried both -the 1.5 and the 3.71 kernels from the recovery menu but the homebrew wont work at all.
Only one homebrew "VDRUM" works...others "IR SHELL,PSP PDF,PSPlayer,IR File transfer,UMD Dump" wont work, they give this error
"The game could not be started. (80020148)".
Help me out...if i dont get a solution i'll have to go back to 3.40 OE A :(
ThankX

sicdude. Your a god. :D
Anyways-
Ive got my 3.71M33-2 (yay!). Everythings good.
So, i went and i downloaded myself a manhunt 2 ISO. Stuck it in the ISO folder, and voila- It was there! Sweet...
*Clicks X* = PSP Logo.
Woot! (Gets excited)
The game can not be started (80020148)
Well then... i suppose i should go change my kernel to 3.71. :D
So i did. ...diddnt work. same message. :(
Why not mess with the CPU speed by checking every single option?
So i did. ...Diddnt work. Same message. :(
so. hmmm. There appears to be multible NO-UMD options. Sweet! lets check'em out - each one - with different CPU speeds on each - with different kernels. EVERY SINGLE KERNEL. Its been 3 hours and 12 minutes since i started... still nothing. ive tried every option imaginable.
There was a couple hundred seeders on the torrent for manhunt 2, complete with comments explaining how it worked amazingly - on 3.52M33. *sigh* ...Great.
I thought about downgrading, but i thout it would take to long, so i scrapped that idea.
Ive also found out how to un-censor the PSP version of manhunt by editing the ISO. so ive tried all the settings that i did with the normal ISO, but with an edited ISO. -Still no workage.
Im about to smash this thing... Any help would be appreciated man. :D
Thanks!
