Yes, you will need to setup the network with your network access disc. And yes you WILL need to patch the DNAS. Which game is it? If it is SOCOM, you won't be able to play online even with a patched DNAS. And you will have to use swap magic otherwise your PS2 ID will be banned due to Sony being able to detect modchips.

Possibly, I doubt you will get online if you have a modchip. Sorry. Looks like you'll have to disable your modchip and use swap magic, I remember hearing about a "crystal chip"? Which apparently was stealthed so you could play online as the chip auto-patched games. I doubt it though.

Wrong! All 3 PAL releases of Socom can be played online with a patched backup using either a modchip or Swap Magic.

Wrong again! Once a backup is patched properly with the disc ID, then a modchip is NO LONGER detected. As far as Sony knows, you're playing with a legitimate game on an unmodified system.

Ok, Ok, keep your hat on. Last I heard only SOCOM 1 worked with PAL DNA$ patched, and the other two were patched, I moved on to Halo 2 from SOCOM, and that was last I heard.

As for the modchip, I remember trying on a friend's modchipped system with a backup with a patched DNAS and I got an error 402, which I checked up on, and it was a modchip-related problem The backup however worked perfectly online with Swap Magic. I was speaking from experience here, thus why I said what I did.

Did you try to play an NTSC game on a PAL console? Because that won't work, PAL games can only be played on PAL consoles, the same goes for NTSC.

Unless you've got an old v1-7 'fat' PS2 & change the internal region ID to a PAL/NTSC Hybrid so you can use both regions games' online.
And don't ask how you do that plz, cos its been posted about before - use forum search - its been most recently in one of these Disc ID lists.

I tend to not to give out too much information on the PS2 ID Changer due to the number of newbies who end up messing up their console with it. I think, ace, if you're gonna tell them that it exists, you could at least tell him where to get it from and how to use it. Or give him a link to a thread which will give him the information required.

Or are you a fuck up that hasn't paid any attention to this thread that you started?

@ MaxKain (Or any duplicate accounts)

Are you currently dealing with a good friend who has been diagnosed with cancer? Are you currently sitting highly important exams? We don't all sit in our rooms playing pokemon all day, some of us have little free time..

I think you should watch what you are saying, manners cost nothing and make the world a much better place.

@Nephilim, thank you very much, :)

-Mike

EDIT : Oh, and by the way, I have been adding the DNA$ IDs, I just haven't got around to do the newest ones.

partial console ID changer for ps2 PAL AUSTRALIA

Hi I need to know if this is possible and will it work.
If i use the ID change for my ps2 which is SCPH 30006R and change it to umm.. PAL australia will that work. my ps2 modchip is V6.
Now I bought most of my ps2 games over sease they say NTSC U/C. My ps2 is a NTSC J. now i did the ID changer on a game called hardware i got the version i didnt patch it got me a DNAS error -407 and then i patch the id i got a DNAS -833 (region error) thats because my ps2 is NTSC -J. now will the ID changer make it work?

Something else I herd of crystal Chip it says that it by passes DNAS So all together wouldnt that be the best im not sure how will that just bypasses it because then would it work?

Thanks for listening Im not sure what to do please help
thank you very much
