Well clearly you never looked for any info on it before posting did you?
You can't get online with a backup of the PAL version of MGS3: Subsistence Disc 2, so a disc ID will do you no good.

@seank
Yes, you can play an NTSC game on a PAL console. You can either patch the image file with the "ntsc-PAL yfix tool" or if your TV is capable of playing both PAL and NTSC formats, then you can play with no scrolling on the screen.
However, playing online is a different story. You can use a machine region ID changer, but this can't be used on slimline consoles, so hard luck..!

That doesnt make a difference, not of the other NFS's have had online i dont think, personally i find your post slighlty offensive "you are the same guy who said that PES6 doesnt have online mode", thats jsut me, not trying to be an idiot or cocky, anyway i aint a sucker and i never have been before anyone starts. Also i was going to ask does Call of Duty 3 have online as i need a DNAS if it does, otherwise sorry.
Anyway hope i didnt offend you with my post, just pointing the obvious.
Thanks

110% Positive. I have the game - have done since it was released for download. The NFS series hasn't had online play for over 2 years. It stopped with 'Underground 2'.
And PES6 was a completely different matter all together. Not my fault they decided to throw online play back in at the last minute - which shows cos of the crappy online play!

Who was that aimed at? Him or me?

Yes it does, but you're in the wrong list. Only the NTSC version's available just now.
EDIT: What's up with the quotes? Can't see them! The separation lines are there, showing that there should be a quoted post, but you can't see the text!
EDIT2: S'okay, seems to be a Firefox problem. Works fine with IE. Strange!

when Phant*sy Star Un1verse comes out for PAL, do you think S*ga will be running any type of check on the discs? I want to play the PAL version online (already have the NTSC from the store) & haven't seen anything on the NTSC thread about Sega's server check.

@Hardcore - I doubt it, it's only several games that are used on Sony's servers that carry this protection.
