Actually I had a brain fair and wrote too much. The SIMS is an EA game and it will be SafeDisc2 protected.

Hi I've read the last 17 pages or so of the thread and have tried most of the methods listed. Here is my problem. I have a .bin file and a .cue file, the .bin file is 790 megs and it says that the .bin file is 122 bytes and 4 kb on disk. So I can't burn it on a normal disk, altho I have tried a lot of the methods here. When i try to virtual mount it in alcohol120 it says "Cue sheet: Line 1: File command must appear before other commands", I tried to open the cue file with notepad but it just shows a bunch of garbage. I should say that the download process is not over but since the file is divided up into four.bin's and four.cues, it shudnt be a problem shud it? Thanks for your help.

Hi
ive downloaded a copy of star wars knights of the old republic cd 1 and 2 but its just a standard .exe file, not .bin.exe and both are only about 115mb.
does this mean they are compressed or can i just put them into bin format? if so how do i find out if it need to go into bin or iso format? if it is only 115mb does it need to be decompressed in some way?
thanks alot for ur time

Praetor: Serenity now, Serenity now! haha ;).
Bourne: Sounds like its a ripped version of the program meaning stuff was taken out. Run the exe file for cd 1 and see if it starts to install or not. You could also try opening it with winrar first to see if its a compressed exe. Either way, if its a working rip, you should be able to run the exe and that should install the game.

Ginsu: Okay, make sure you have all the rar files in the same directory (x.r00, x.r01 etc). Without all the files, you cannot extract the archive. You must be missing some of the files, or dont have all the files in the same folder, etc. If its a game cd its usually alot of files.

Smackstuh: If your bin/cue files are not corrupted, then you should be able to burn them (assuming they are real files). Look through this thread, reread the explanations for burning a bin/cue file as an image and then see if the cd came out ok. If not, then its probably either corrupted, or not complete in some way. As for 4 bin/cue's, be more specific, are you saying you have 4 cd's or what?

Well, I did figure out how to burn it, but in its stead I also found this cool bit of software that allows you to play .bin files directly from your desk without burning nething. Thanks for you help tho.

Hi all!
I got tired of writing my own cue files so I created a simple yet useful little tool that does the job.
I call it Cueator, and it's user friendly ;)
I just want to share it, so if anyone is interested:

LOL flt is an abbreviation of a release group, Fairlight, for which specific discussion, as per forum rules, shall cease.
Dealing with the flt files simple: manually extract using WinRAR and burn as the resulting BIN/CUE as per usual.

Question: I've got a back-up that I'd burned and I wanted to test it to make sure it worked. So I saved all the info from the game and uninstalled it then tried to reinstall it using the burnt bin/cue files. It installed fine and everything went well until I hit the play button and it wouldn't load, giving me a disk read error. (Please insert the correct CD-ROM, select OK and restart application) I have no clue why it's doing this and it doesn't even seem that logical to me either. I installed it from this disk, why can't I play it from the disk? So I downloaded a trial version of Alcohol 120% to see if a virtual drive would work, and alas, the same scenario. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Installation is almost never a problem but rather, the playback is the issue. What protection scheme was the game guarded with? You will need to deal with that protection in orde to use those discs.

I recently "acquired" a game in bin/cue format. It is protected with SecuROM 4.84.84.
I have no access to the original CDs and trying to create an image with CloneCD and TwinPeak didn't work. Is there any way you can suggest for me to overcome this issue?
Or is it time to dip into my wallet for once?

I'm useing easy cd creater to burn The Return of the King. When I try to find the disk image, lotr3c-log.cue, it can't find it. It only looks for .cif or .iso files. Can I convert the .cue file to match the .cif disk image?

Hey all...
I am fairly new to this game & need a little help,
My problem is I have downloaded the super xp cd, which is all versions of XP on one cd, it has come as a bin file with a cue.
The bin file is 732 MB big which I though was a problem until I found your thread, I have read all of the posting and if I am correct in saying I can fit that on a 700mb disc
however, as it is a XP installation disc I will need it to be bootable... the reason for this is whenever I put a new operating system on I do full wipe drive, clearing any unwanted crap off my hard drive, starting from scratch
So my questions r.....
1: when I just burn the bin & cue onto cd will the cd automatically become a bootable disc?
2: if not how do I create a bootable disc?
List of burning progs I have:
Alcohol 120%
Nero 5.5.9.14
Easy cd creator 5 platinum
3: out of those progs which is the best one to do this job?
Many thanks Chris.

Talion: The movie ROTK isnt quite out yet is it?
superpoo: If the image was bootable then the disc is bootable. Alcohol120 followed by Nero.

The Return of the King is out on mIRC. But I still need to know how to convert .cue to .cif. If it's possible. I'm using Roxio easy cd and dvd creater 6. The .bin file size of cd 1 is 790 megs. Is there anyway to make it smaller to fit on a 700 meg disk?
