hey guys i flashed chris image to my box and worked a treat.
just wondering does it affect your box if you keep flashing images to the box, i just wanted to try a few other images to see what they had to offer but didnt want to risk screwing up my box.
anyone have any advice on this?
also any other good images out there that people are using?
thanks again.

Good News! After 2 months of updating codes got a USB to RS232 nullmodem cable, uploaded a couple of the new images, blade...ect - when i did the channel scan only got 30/40 channels back - returned to my original Sportster 1.02 image and added the new nagrarom files as oognog originaly suggested, scanned again and all working a treat now! :-) dodgey sticking cahnnels seems due to really poor signal from NTHELL - new co-axial cable has seemed to fix that!! So fingers crossed I'll remember sequence of updating image and files!! Have to say is worth a go!! Happy Out here!! Ta oognog and the gang on here that make all this a success! TF!

Unzip the irish11.zip, upload the file cables.xml to var/tuxbox/config and let overwrite the old one, delete the file scan.conf in the same sub directory, pull the plug.
Replug, go to the scan menu, select n*l ie cable bf in the provider line, select keep/leave bouquets in the bouquet line, switch off fast scan, start the scan.

not to sound stupid but just checking does this keep the channels in order but just updates the missing ones.

To fix your dbox channels from any tv channel press dbox then service menu then service scan and put it on update existing and turn off fast scan and select your cable provider, scan and wait and your done. they're working again without changing the order.

lads, i thought it was not safe to do a rescan. i thought by doing this you would lose existing channels altogether. it takes me so long to sort problems out that i don't want to take a risk of losing all.
has anyone tried rescaning yet??
cheers

Simply choose leave current in the bouquet line.
All channels which are found get an update if necessary, new channels landing in others and nobody touch channels of your bouquets which are not found from the scan.

Some images have the cables.xml in the subdirectory share/tuxbox.
If you find a cable.xml there replace it.

I tried two different cable.xml files that were for n*l but cable providers selection never changed. When I deleted the scan.conf file the only option I had was kable deutsch.
