You can just use the services.xml if you want your old bouquet, but they changed filmfour, filmfour+1, the adult channel, and some kids ones. If you do not change to my bouquet these will appear at the end and can be moved back into place yourself.
I think some of my frequencies are not exactly right, but they are confirmed working on 3 boxes so far.
Hey Ruprect, thanks for the Services.xml. I have used my own Bouquet and see the additional channels in the 'Other' bouquet at the end. I cannot for the life of me seem to move the channels out of it or even lock this Bouquet. Need to do this as it has the Adult channel there which needs to be locked up. Any idea how to do this and how to see/modify the 'Other' Bouquet with these extra channels ?
Thanks in advance

Others is not a real bouquet. Its simply a list of channels which are not linked to any bouquet.
Create a new bouquet and add the channels from others. After that others disappears.

Hi All,
D-box stopped working some time ago and decided to attack the problem the other day. I'm out of ideas at this stage so have to ask for some advice.
I have a slightly older Sagem DB2 box.
I have flashed commando 8.2 to it
I have ftp'd the new cable, services, and bouquet XML files.
I scanned ntl accordingly.
I still can only get some stations, RTE, Setanta, City Channel etc.
The rest of the channels just don't appear and there also seems to be a little bit of distortion in the form of liner white glitches on them.
Any suggestions?

Why did you scan? if you got my services file in oggnoggs folder there should be no need to scan.
Some of my frequencies may be slightly off, which channels are not working for you and I can check on my sagem.

Very few channels working. Only some of the Irish ones and channel six.
is it possible the scan messed up your services file? Should I overwrite that and check the results?

Ruprect I see you have tried Blade Quad elsewhere. It will work if you edit the NetID in setmylocations.config at the Dublin 2 location. NetID is set at 42755 when it should be at 42753 and delete the extra 0 from 2910000.
As per the OP's, (Blah), who came up with the solution. It does work believe me. Although as mgb has said his cable.xml will also work as it has 418.250 added.

Did you give it time to update your keys? leave on rte1 for 20mins. Also did you update your rom7 file? if not the keys will not come in correctly.
The scan may or may not have messed up services. Did you get the full approx 145 TV channels?

I have not tried Quad yet, I posted in the Quad thread but am still on andromeda 2.0. I tried it last night and it did not work again, but I was still not using the original cables.xml file.
I would still like to know how the netid works. Is it some code that somehow gets the correct frequencies itself. i.e. I have never seen 418.25 on any cables.xml file so how does it decide to scan there?
If this netid works so well then why bother updating the cables.xml files at all? Why do all images not just use this.
When I scan I am still unsure about 2 options, fast scan, and sections scan. I was told to enable the fast scan with the netid routine.

Ah ha. That's it.
Do I just replace the existing one? Any pointers on where to find a new one?

Sorry but mgb will answer your questions in more detail than I can. His cable.xml has 418.250 added to it because of the new TP, have you tried his one and deleted scan.config and uplug?
His cable.xml is specifically for the Irish network and it works quite well. I used it but also experimented with Quad which also works with a bit of editing.
The Net ID corresponds to the specific home frequency, yours been 291000 but there is also some other at 363000.

I have my box running fine. I made my own cables file which works fine. If you have a subbed pace box you can simply turn on any channel, whether subscribed or not, and you can press menu and it shows the frequency, then add that to cables.
Problem is I have loads of mates with dboxes who do not know how to use FTP, and have no cables anyway. I want a way to correct it via tuxbox commander, or just scanning.
I presume the old cables.xml did not have 418.25 listed, so when using netid I wonder why people say to use cable uk 6887? would any of the providers work.
I cannot edit cables.xml with tuxbox commander, but I can change services. Editing services is very slow. you would have to change 3 frequencies and about 3-4 codes for other stations that changed, (film four, film 4+1, adult channel, and some other)

Yep I know about subbed frequencies all my boxes use them :) Quad method of scan for Dublin is really a workaround. Hence the use of the UK scan but all it does if you have set your location is scan in the correct 13 TPs in less than a minute, which is quiet fast I may say.
Andromeda is quite good I had it until the TP change and then decided while I was having a go at fixing that to try a new image. BTW I heard it is quite good on Sagems also.
Regards your mates, guess they will either have to learn how to update the boxes themselves or you all have a Dbox crash course at your house :)
Joking apart you learned how to, so they should too.

The frequency 418.250 was never used before and doesn't match exactly the order of the previous frequency range. Therefor it was not included in older cables.xml files.
Netid is not used in every image because nearly nobody know the netid of the own area and there is more than one.

I understand that 418.25 was never there before. But I do not know how the netid file figures out 418.25. i.e. people are using the netid and then scanning using the old uk6887 from the cables.xml without 418.25.
If UK 6887 works without 418.25 then should any service provider in an old cables.xml work?

UK 6887 or any other other selected provider is only a fallback if the netid scan fails.
The netid scan is simply a network scan via the network information table.

Hey Ruprect, all 145 channels or so are there, just not working.
What's best way to proceed? Should I just update rom7? As I've scanned, do I need to change the scan, services and bouquet files again or does that make any difference.
Any idea where I can find a new rom7 file or how to update it?
Thanks

get the nagra 7 file on anyway, get it here
http://www.4shared.com/file/44158482/c6299f5e/nagrarom7.html
the file goes into the keys folder, overwrite the existing one.
your scan may be OK, when the rom 7 file kicks in you will see if you have all channels or not. if they do not work right then put on the services again.
If it still doesnt work I will have my fully updated andromeda file in oggnoggs folder at the weekend.

I put on a fresh andromeda and did the change and scan and it worked fine. I checked the scan.conf and it had the netid=42753 in it. While on my own andromeda no matter what region I pick the netid line does not appear.
So instead of changing the setmyloactions.config I am just editing the scan.conf and added in the missing line. This works and I have a mate who did it via tuxbox commander and it worked fine, all 145 channels back. Thanks a lot for your help.

Thanks for that. I think I understand more now, it is sort of like a pin code once you have it then it calls in the correct frequencies. My scan worked on any provider I tried.
Below is the guide I made for my mates to fix their boxes via tuxbox commander. Much of the guide is robbed from the previous keylist.txt editing guide. Note the guide is for N*L cable dublin.
If anybody knows the netid and freq for N*L mmds in dublin please let me know.
There are 2 things to do, edit a file, and rescan. In future all you should need is the rescan, they will start messing about more often now but a rescan is very simple compared to editing the file.
EDITING THE FILE.
1. Press the blue button and you will be in the features menu, scroll to Tuxbox Commander, press OK. You should now be looking at the files on the D Box.
2. Scroll to TUXBOX and press ok, If you don't see TUXBOX, scroll to VAR and press OK. If you do not see VAR then scroll to <DIR> in the top upper left of the screen & press ok. Either way you want to be in TUXBOX
3. When you have clicked OK on TUXBOX scroll to CONFIG & press OK
4. Scroll to SCAN.CONF and press 4 on your remote control (SCAN.CONF will not be visible, you must scroll downwards and it will be on the next page). ***It is important that you don't press OK when you scroll to SCAN.CONF , you must press 4 in order to edit the file. If you pressed OK in error , just press the Home button and start again.
5. After pressing 4 you should be looking at a screen with the following (or similar)
TP_fec=1
TP_freq=
TP_pol=0
TP_rate=
TP_satname=
TP_scan=0
bouquetMode=2
delivery_system=0
diseqcMode=0
diseqcRepeat=0
satCount=0
satNameNoDiseqc=DUBLIN FAST
scanSectionsd=0
scanType=3
scan_mode=0
(Note if you see weird boxes at the end of the lines press blue once)
You must change this to look like this (there may be a new line to be entered netid=42753, also if it doesnt say "DUBLIN FAST" do not worry this does not matter.)
TP_fec=1
TP_freq=291000
TP_pol=0
TP_rate=6887
TP_satname=
TP_scan=0
bouquetMode=2
delivery_system=0
diseqcMode=0
diseqcRepeat=0
netid=42753
satCount=0
satNameNoDiseqc=DUBLIN FAST
scanSectionsd=0
scanType=3
scan_mode=1
To change them just scroll down to the line and press OK, then move the cursor right to move across to where you want to enter numbers using the numbers on the keypad, press until the number appears, just like a text message. If entering the same number twice you have to press right to get to the next space, just like texting. Press OK to edit the line, and OK again when finished. To change scan_mode=1 just highlight the 0 and press the up arrow to get it to show 1.
the ones to change should be:
TP_freq=291000
TP_rate=6887
netid=42753
scan_mode=1
To enter the "netid=42753" line scroll down to "satCount=0" and press green, this puts in a new line above it. If the line is already there just change/enter the numbers
Press ok on this new line and you can edit the line. Again letters are like a text message, the bottom of the screen shows which number will give the correct letter. The = is got by pressing number 1 3 times.
6. When you have changed all the lines, press the Home button, it will ask you do you want to save changes, scroll left to yes and press OK.
7. Now press home again get back to the TV screen.
8. Press the D-box button and scroll to service and press OK.
9. Scroll to "RESTART NEUTRINO" and press OK. This will take about 10 seconds and then go back to the TV screen. now you are ready to scan.
SCANNING FOR CHANNELS.
1. Press the D-BOX button, scroll to service and press OK.
2. Scroll to SERVICE SCAN and press OK.
3. Scroll to START SCAN and press OK.
Now all the channels should scan in, there should be approx
TV-145 RADIO-35 DATA-9
4. When the scan is finished keep pressing home until you are back to the TV screen, flick around if there is nothing on screen, if there is still nothing try switching it off and on again.
All the channels will be back but some will have moved to the very end, around 136 onwards, these can be moved back using bouquet editor in the service menu.

Read it again, I say how to enter the line.
Quote: To enter the "netid=42753" line scroll down to "satCount=0" and press green, this puts in a new line above it.
So have satcount highlighted, press green and a new line appeard, press ok on that line and you can enter the full line netid=42753

What was your old box? did the beer go down on particular side?
How much would you sell it for?
