Newb question: Since I live in Australia, in CD/DVD-ROM Generator do I still just select Europe as my Licensed Area?
[EDIT] Im obviously doing something wrong for the file to be getting larger than the original rip after i use apache2 to build the iso. It gets stuck at 99%, and the file keeps growing.. Even after replacing the dummy file.

johks - What is the media ID of those discs? If you put one of them in the Drive and open up ImgBurn or DVD Decrypter and look on the right hand info panel it should say media ID or media code, and say something like CMC221 or MCC or some other kind of code. Find out and paste it in please :)
Lurtz - Yes, Europe. And are you actually replacing the file? Are you nor using ISOBuster to rip all of the files then simply rebuilding them? Dummy files are usually taken out as soon as you rip the game files with IsoBuster, so try not replacing any of them yourself and see what the results are like.

sorry for not being very clear earlier, ill try to provide more info this time.
The game is Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence. It is a 4.27 gig rip that i made using DVD Decrypter (version 3.5.4.0).
I followed the guidebut I used Isobuster Pro 2.2. When it game to extracting the files to a seperate folder I was able to shave off about 20mb. I was then able to create the iml file with CD/DVD Generator 1.5 without problems wich I placed within the same folder as instructed. But now when it came to using Apache (version 2 build 92127) after importing the iml file and trying to build the iso it always gets stuck at 99%, however I notice that the file continues to grow larger in size. I left it for a few minutes and it had become larger than the original rip...

I just recently brought the swap magic 3.6 with the slim tools for my slim ps2. i have installed it correcly but the games that i have burned does not even work (well after an hour or 2 but after it frezzes) i used a verbatim DVD+R. And i burned another game with TDK DVD-R, it works but it takes like 7-10 mins to start up and when its loading in the game it takes about 10 minutes for it to start. IS THERE A SOLUTION!!!

Post the media code of those verbatim! It will tell you on DVD Decrypter when you load the disc, look at the right hand panel, it has all that information. Media ID.
lurtz - did you build the files in accordance to the original structure? Remember to drop the files in the order in which they appear in ISOBuster, and remember to have the correct details going through $ony CD/DVD Gen.

Thanks for your help so far.
I managed to complete the process with other games without this issue. It must just be my rip of MGS3 thats the problem. I figure it doesn't matter though because I can still fit the iso onto a dvd and get it to work. I'm hoping my other MGS3 disks wont give me this problem.

I have the problem when i burn backup games, the games run really crappy and get stuck, wont even run smooth.
I have seen posts here saying using dvd-r is better than +r so I tried it but the magic swap cd says that it is not a ps2 dvd!!The dvds im using should not be that crappy and they are memorex so i think they should be okay... I am suspecting if my dvd burner is too slow or old... sorry for newb question but please help

I hate to inform you but memorex was voted one of the worst media, lol. If you want your backups to work, you'll need to invest in some good media. Verbatim/Taiyo Yuden.
And once your burns are finished put them back in your PC to check the data was written correctly.
Azdaman, how many different games have you tried burning?

Hello, this post is to inform other PS2 owners about my PS2 and how it's been doing. I bought a slimline in the year of 2005, I have a model 75001, and it's been running fine ever since then.
A few months ago I bought Magic Swap 3.6 I came to find out that my PS2 Slimline cannot run CDROM PS2 games well. It has hard time running Magic Swap CDROM. This isn't a big issue considering that I do not play any CDROM games. Now, to elaborate on the media part.
When I first started using Magic Swap, I burned ISOs using DVD DECRYPT, and 2004 Verbatim DVD-Rs. These Verbatims were blank and scratched since they haven't been used for so long. At the time when I was burning games using these scratched blanks, they skipped, I didn't know why they skipped but I know now. It was because I was burning to scratched media. When you burn onto scratched media the burner skips over the scratches on the DVD-R, and leaves big holes wherever there are large scratches, that's why they skipped.
After learning that, I started using Maxell DVD-Rs which worked perfectly. After I ran out of Maxell DVD-Rs, I purchased some SONY DVD-Rs ACCUCORE from Walmart, these worked perfectly aswell.
Right now I am using JVC DVD-Rs, the dye on these DVD-Rs are extremely dark and they have been running flawlessly on my Slimline. I have searched around the net and I haven't been able to find any info on JVC DVD-Rs, on my PS2 they run flawlessly like I said.
So far, my PS2 has not been picky with DVD-Rs, so far I have ran all of these types of DVD-Rs on my PS2 without errors.
Verbatim
Maxell
Nexxtech
JVC
SONY
Even though all of these worked fine, I am going to keep using Verbatim in the future. So far I have been burning all games at 4x, this speed seems sufficient enough for my PS2 to run them without extra effort. Mik3h after you read this please get back with me and tell me what you think.

It might have something to do with the speed you are burning at.

When cleaning and re-adjusting it does not solve your problem.
