I do not think you use IFA to change the kernel scripts but if you happen to be good a german here is a useful site

I think your BOOTMANAGER script has had a nervous breakdown from what you say, so that will need to be reinstalled, from what you say before you do anything else

Hi all just wondering would anyone have a spare remote control for a nokia dbox2. I know I can purchase one on ebay but on the off chance someone has one going spare, I would be willing to pay the going rate and collect if in Dublin. I am in the clondalkin area. Thanks.

hi a good cheap way for a remote plug your dbox into your router if poss then type in the ip of your dbox and you will be presented with a screen and then in the left hand side you ll see n option remote just if your desparate for it mind you

my sagem dbox2 has stopped working . when i say stopped i dont mean key roll , what i mean is it does not turn on , the lcd screen powers up ( starts to glow ) but thats as far as it goes. i have done nothing to this box for about 2 months , i have taken the cover off and have noticed an area ( in the HOT ZONE) that looks like it has over heated (slightly brown) could this be my problem, can i just replace the resistor that is dirctly over this area or could it be some thing else ? any help would be greatly appreciated as my kids are going mad without their channels to whatch and after beating the key rolling from VM i would hate to be beat by a bit of wire

Please Help! - "Kien System" error, I havent flashed anything to just turned my box on last week and "Kien System" is on the LCD display.
I've spent 10 Hours trying to connect to my DBOX using IFA or Hyperterminal with RS232 Null Modem cable / X Over RJ45 cable. I cannot connect to my dbox no matter what I try. Read the DBOX for dummies guide 50 times to see what am i doing wrong but I just cannot connect.
Error Message from IFA:
Couldnt start packet_Driver (2, The system cannot find the file specified)?! The program will terminate (Crash) right now
Any ideas anyone..??
I have the ppcboot file and IFA is pointing to correct location..
PLease help me, I'm about to smash my DBOX against the wall.

Got fed up waiting on the new codes as well so tried it myself and got it working.

my box is working again just the lcd that aint anyone have any ideas ?

hi
i it has been a while since i have been on this site. I have a nokia dbox, normally i would get the new codes from from the TCB.cc tool bar, this time i went to enter the new code by pressing 4 on keylist went to change the code, changed the code then pressed home but the the changed did not save. tried a couple of times but the change does not save. Any ideas what i should be doing?

hi
my mums dbox has lost its premium channels. it had been reflashed since the last scare a couple of months ago. one of my knephews had got into the sportster screen(features ) and couldnt get out so pressed a load of buttons. i chaged the emu settings to evocamd and alternate but no joy. there doesnt seem to be any keys present when i force the update or re boot.
can anyone help . i have one too and mine has no problems as it updates itself.
is it simple or do i have to get it rebooted again.

Just checking...does IFA automaticaly backup ur old image?
and is it best to copy services and boquets b4 flashing new image?
Is thier an seperate prog to backup image?

ifa does back up the image so thats a yes, i always back up bouquets and services so thats a yes, and finally another yes because you can back everything up via ftp just simply drag and drop to back up the image via ftp you do that via the dbox service then image upgrade backup once dont its in the temp folder will be named as mtd3 then just drag that from temp to your desktop

Or where to get one?
